How are paratrooper division losses when landing calculated? Recently in a multiplayer match I tried dropping 40 width full strength paratroopers on Britain but they were taking something like 80-90% losses in division strength after dropping with nearly complete air superiority. I think Paradox may have deliberately nerfed them greatly in a patch after people made videos of taking Britain with only a few paratroopers because I remember in the past this kind of terrible losses didn't happen. If that is the case I think they have made the wrong move since the primary problem is AI not garrisoning ports and using air forces properly, rather than paratroopers being overpowered.

Provincial AA if my memory serves well is quite deadly to paratroopers. It's possible there was AA in UK.

Zwireq is right

UK provincial AA max 5 will inevitably knock 90% of paras.

However the 10% remnant can still pull of a victory if the Brit troops are away.

The paras can grab a weakly held port to allow a mass sea transport of armies.

This will overwhelm the Royal Navy which can (currently) only engage a limited number at a time.

If you can land on a port and have a stockpile of appropriate supplies built up it will only take a few in-game days to get your Paras back to full strength. It's pretty hilarious really.

So you're saying re-equipping an entire division on foreign soil in only a matter of days is a funny thing? Dang! And here I thought my quartermaster was a legit miracle worker. :D
