Been doing a lot of paradropping as South Africa, and noticing plenty of problems with missions refusing to launch while trying to drop into provinces (even adjacent ones) that are considered part of a remote Air Region. For example, I'm trying to jump from British Guyana to Trinidad, which is well within my transport range and is completely undefended - yet the TP wing seems to think the target node is in the middle of the Caribbean, has a 10% efficiency, and won't execute the drop. Normally I've been ignoring these problems and taking bugged provinces via ground troops (almost routine in Africa...), but there's no other way for me to island hop.

What gives, and how do I fix this?

Paratroopers work at random. Sometimes they can paradrop across continents, sometimes, can't land a province away. So just check all this crap game won't say you must check:
- Air superiority in both Paratrooper starting area and target area
- Paratrooper division template, so no brigades other than paras and supports
- Enough transport planes according to paratrooper template weight.
- Paras assigned to a plan and this plan is executed.
Even then it is not guaranteed paradrop would be performed as tooltips are lacking

I've used paras enough to know what to look for. Everything is fine, offending divisions and wings work in other circumstances - it's only when the Mission Efficiency is in the red due to these arbitrary "low region coverage/ lack of range" penalties that the TPs refuse to fly. It's happened in at least three different regions so far.

Really wish they did away with Air Regions entirely and went back to the province-by-province coverage as seen in HoI3. It's annoying when divebombers get severe penalties for fighting one province away from their airfield because "it's part of an Air Region whose center node is a thousand miles away", but it's worse than annoying when it prevents critical missions from even executing.

Have you tried increasing the ammount of TP in the wing so that the requred ammount of tp at destination(10% of wing size if 10% efficency). Might have gotten included in the combat resolution before dropping and then using the number that comes out of combat res to drop.

I never assigm my tp to an airzone when I drop, just make the plans and execute. Only time Ive not had the missions execute is because to few tp(rather, more tp have resolved the issue).
