In EU2, Provence gained nothing via event, despite ending up with Lorraine, Naples, and half of Aragon during the EU timeframe. Their only events are to become France and be annexed by France.
In EU3, the game starts after Provence had lost Naples, so it's understandable that Provence does not control Naples, but they don't even have cores. Instead of King Rene going to war over the succession of Aragon, the provinces are just transferred to rebel control, and Lorraine and Bar are never ruled by Provence, despite Rene being Duke of Bar until 1480.
This is, anyway, the situation in the demo. Hopefully it's either different in the full version or patched eventually. If France gains cores due to their Angevin claims, then obviously the Angevins should have cores.
Love the game, though.
