Any competion here is no more. Use this thread for any kind of otherwise unrelated AAR songs.

"Hi and welcome to Paradoxian Idol, the first AAR to be shamelessly ripped off the TV.

Also visit our CK filial
And our HoI II filial

Here you, be you a writer, lurker, moderator, reader, serpent wannabee, or God of Thunder and rock 'n roll, will be the one standing for the actual making of the AAR. You are the innovative soul we are looking for, who we in the jury then can comment on in a snobby superior way (or in a kind and constructive way, whatever is fine for you.) The core here is songs; songs with neat lyrics. You will get the change to produce neat lyrics (own songs too if you're able) and present them here. The best of you will then move on to the next level of competition, were you fight each other in a cascade of song and dance.

This kind of writing is called a "Musical AAR" and has been produced in AARland in non-collective forms before. The only form I have so far observed is remade lyrics to one somewhat well known song. Among these the triplets AARs produced by EvilSanta stand for the biggest chunk, at least by one author. EvilSanta has also written a guide how to write an AAR like this, which you can read if you feel inexperienced in the field. Below will an example of a musical AAR be shown, including some practical notes.

Now, let's get down to business. The following guidelines should be good to have read.

1. Anyone can contribute to the AAR.
2. A contribution doesn't have to be in the competition. No jury contributions will. If someone else wish to just write state that you do not wish to compete. After all, the main thing is to have fun.
3. The contribution must contain a musical element in some way least modified by the author.
4. There must be a link to the tune corresponding to the text to qualify.
5. One competing contribution per member and level of competition. Non-competing contributions are unlimited. Unless stated otherwise in beforehand the first contribution will be the competing one.
6.To keep a good pace please try to keep the contributions under four per day. It's not a hard rule, but a recommendation.
7. The contribution should not be out of place in the HoI forum. There are threads for the other forums coming up.

The levels of contribution will be adjusted according to the number of contributions. The final level is planned to be the the general forum

And for those who's interested: here is a short presentation of the jury, with some tasteless commercials for their other works. Note that this presentations are out of date already as of posting. They were up to date some months ago when this was posted in the HoI II forum.

Snake IV(me), who's idea this AAR happens to be. Has done a couple of AARs before, of which "The seven wonders of the Diplomatic world" is most known being the only Diplomacy AAR of some length. Until recently Snake IV regrettably hadn't done much in AAR lately besides reading already subscribed works. Snake has one AAR he is currently working on. “World war II in colour, boring bulge“ was started not at all long ago, where he whines as Bhutan.

grayghost, a big shot in the HoI II sub-forum. He has one AAR through the times, one but a tiger. The Manchurian Candidate is among the top of the Narrative AARs ongoing, and has been several times awAARded for its quality, among that the Favourite HoI overall and Favourite HoI Narrative AAR for Q2 2007. grayghost is also the founder of the warlords club, which includes such people as Le Ran and rcduggan.

EvilSanta, the master of musical AARs. As mentioned is EvilSanta’s greatest success the three AARs were everything is told through lyrics and lyrics only, in the CK, EUIII, and HoI II forums, for which he has won both WritAAR of the week and Weekly AAR showcase. Currently he works on “Ein Bergvolk, Ein Österreich, Ein Schuschnigg!” were he plays the smaller German version of a Reich (Austria), with easy-going and fun humour with one of his eminent songs once in a while.

Duke of Wellington, creator of many entertaining AARs, among them the two years old and counting “Golden Horde - Scourge From The East”, which is the longest EUII AAR since five years in posts counted. Duke has also made several other AARs about hopeless or very tiny nations in EUII or EUIII, all with a cleaver style of writing with an entertaining view on organized societies. Duke of Wellington is also one of the forums biggest readers, giving positive feedback in AARs of every style and quality all over the forum.

And now, let the singing begin! Remember that the important isn’t to win, but to contribute, entertain and be entertained."

AEIOU
Sing to the Tune of 99 Luftballons

Have you ever played EU
And seen complains at the creator crew
Saying they are all to blame
That pure random is this game?
Then you'll now see the flaws
Of these agrues, much because
If you are realistic
The following's deterministic

99 German nations
Some with voting delegations
Baden, emepror they want
'Cause there married someones aunt
States won't watch eachothers backs
Seek neighbours to be thier snacks
The duchies' armies marches dense
Ready for a big offence

99 small scale confilts
German minors' final convicts
Up against them is the blob
White and mighty does the job
The Austrian armies occupies
The German units they do slice
Brute force thus bring law and order
Wien has now changed the border

99 Badboy score
Gives the cause for major war
Habsburg starts with falling back
Bourbon men follow thier track
But when the blob awakes from slumber
Frenchmen's heads are pilied as lumber
One by one the nations loose
Their freedom from the white abuse

99 Habsburg royals
Rule all Europe of disloyals
Spain, France, Poland are not there
England doesn't find life fair
The people know to keep it quiet
Austira will hard crush a riot
Upon asked all will nod
The blob is here, sent by God.

Johan is our god, and BiB is his prophet

These lyrics I've made at different occations. The idea to use the blob was with me some time, and when I thought of this tune it fitted, 99 often being a big number and the blob being big. The lyrics aren't all too easy to follow, and they are forced at times (I'm not sure I'd let this one pass, I'm not as good as I should be I think : ) ), but they are my own writings every single one, no copy form the original (guess you didn't see that one : p) Both the original and this one is about war, but it's more of a coincidence, I was just aiming at something fun about Austria. Most thigns I've seen come up in these competitions have been better worked on. I thought I would have said something better here, but doesn't seem so. Eh, who cares?

Uh oh, this thing is still alive? Haven't seen any posts on neither HoI2 nor CK parts for ages.

Right, one of the judges here. Remember, the most important thing is not victory but humiliating your best friend.

uhhu... has there been a eu3 idols before?
I've seen these on other forums... but not here.
A good time for this. :)
and I suck at songwriting... :(

But onwards with the blobbies! :D
I wonder if there will be something about Vijayanagar... :eek:o

Don't know if this is still going on, but since I found this thread and loved the idea, I figured I might as well make a contribution...

Big France
To the tune of: "Wild Thing" - The Troggs

Big France,
You make me change pants.
You make all my plans useless--
Big France.

Big France, I think I hate you
But I want to know for sure
So why am I scared to fight?
...I hate you.

Big France,
You make me change pants.
You make all my plans useless--
Big France.

*instrumental break*

Big France, I think you'd beat me
But I want to know for sure
So wait while I declare war.
...You beat me.

Big France,
You make me change pants.
You make all my plans useless--
Big France.
C'mon, Big France.
Stop it, stop it, Big France.

This is a really great idea! I have made one too. Let's hope others will follow!

Granada
To the tune of: "Alane" - Wes

I swear...
hear...

Up!
Up!

King Carlos sang
Sultan, it's over
You thought I would really need you
You probably thought you were save at Gibraltar

Muhammad sang
I'll conquer Iberia this summer
They called me so mad, I need to
seek help from Algiers and from Morocco

(refrain)
Granada will need some power
if it wants to
survive war

(refrain again)

Bring up some power
I swear...
Wanna bring in some more
Hé... Hip hip hurray!
Hé... yeah yeah yeah
Hé... yeah yeah yeah

Muhammad sang
Hu hu hu hu hu
I'm a winner
I'll beat the crap out of you too
Tomorrow I'll fight against the rest of you all

(refrain x2)

Bring up some power
I swear...
Wanna bring in some more
Hé... Hip hip hurray!
Hé yeah yeah yeah
Hé yeah yeah yeah

To become a winner
his advisors called
sending German tourists
to fight against them all

To become a winner
he did not fight
sneaking up behind them
conquest in the night

To become a winner
allies were to be
and did so many conquests
monsters made by me

(refrain x4)

Bring up some power
I swear...
Wanna bring in some more
Hé yeah yeah yeah
Bring up some power
I swear...
Wanna bring in some more
Hé... Hip hip hurray!

I became a winner
against all the odds
by beating bad Castille
without any mods

I became a winner
it is very rare
so now I will continue
Hé yeah yeah yeah

Hello , rest of Europe
tune of: Motion City Soundtrack: Hello Helicopter

Hello, rest of Europe
Are you here today?
Really, don't mind us
colonizing night and day
We just loot and exploit
and always avoid
any wars with you

Hello, rest of Europe
Are you here today?
just leave me alone

Hello, rest of Europe, are you feeling blue?
Don't you like the goodies that we bring to you?
We won't tell where they're from, we're not that dumb
We could lose it all
It seems we earn alot when we won't tell you much

We're not sailing anywhere, which you know the location of
We're just trying to get stinking rich, this way we do.

Hello, rest of Europe. Are you lost out there?
losing navies to attrition in despair.
Don't worry, good friends, don't be sad
Let us do our thing
We will sell all, including goods from Ming

We're not sailing anywhere, which you know the location of
We're just trying to get stinking rich, this way we do.

You guys will never learn, so just leave us be
Hello, rest of Europe
Are you here today?
Really, don't mind us
colonizing night and day
We just loot and exploit
and always avoid
any wars with you

Hello, rest of Europe, are you listening?
You guys will never learn, so just leave us be

You'll never declare war on us
No badboy, good relations with you all so stop pretending that you can..
You will never trade embargo us,
without our goods your population will rise up so stop pretending that you can..
You'll never hate our guts
Just be fair, and admit that you like Portugal so stop pretending.....

Hello, rest of Europe
Are you here today?
Really, don't mind us
colonizing night and day
We just loot and exploit
and always avoid
any wars with you

Hello, rest of Europe, are you listening?
