Paradox how come it's not possible to give provinces their own province pictures, like in HoI3? It would allow for even more immersion in this already brilliant game! :)

this game uses really beautiful and informative pictures for the provinces
not photos that dont mean anything, so its really ten steps ahead of HoI3, and would province specific pictures really add anything to the game but give bored modders something to do of an afternoon?

Well I'd love to see eg. an old oil painting of London, instead of just a generic farm land picture. I was just wondering why the feature was left out, as it is in HoI3, which uses the same game engine.

For that to work and make sense, london would also need to have a specific wasname, type.
there are no urban provinces in V2, as it wouldnt make sense for them to be. and knowing what type [hills, farms etc] of province it is at a glance is a better feature than a province specific picture
london could do with having a region to itself, but i dont feel a fancy picture would add anything to the game

I think that is more of a traditionally HoI thing, as it was in HoI2 as well. Most likely because its hard to find renditions of some of the major cities from the mid 19th century. Though your idea of an oil painting (or any work of art like that) is rather intriguing. I like the thought of it. Perhaps there is some way to mod them in.

I see no reason it shouldn't be made moddable, though. Perhaps not the highest priority right now, but definitely something they should look into.

Exactly. My point is more; why switch the possibility off? I'd like to see oil paintings of Danish farm land in Denmark, and of American plains in the US.

You could have all the American plains showing eg. the vailla plains image, but with small "Old West" towns etc. And Plains in Europe could have the vanilla plains image, with the addition of small villages and so on. I think it could actually add something to the game. :)
