I recognise the sarcasm and I think that a massive fortress city populated by over 50,000 people, centre of trade for the region and which took 250,000 men to breach is more important than some uncolonised islands..

Manhattan has more people in it every day than several multiples of the entire population of Serbia in 1444.

The problem here is that Belgrade wasnt the actual capital of Serbia in 1444. It's also far too small to make an own province (we even held of on syrmia for a long time due to this concern, Belgrade would be even smaller).
It's there as the capital in later start dates though. I could maybe see an event to switch the capital and name of the smederevo province in the right circumstances but unless the map is drastically enlarged (which is not very likely at this point) I don't think a separate Belgrade province is likely.

Please enlarge the map some 25% for extra provinces.

Paradox have really screwed up this time. Their complete failure to properly model the intricate details of 15th century Balkans and accept the overwhelming nationalist Balkan sentiments of their player base is at this point just sad. I mean yes, the level of detail required would make the game unplayable, but this can be solves by removing the rest of the map. Would anyone really miss it? Who wants to play through tedious, world shaping, European wars when you have Syrmia AND Belgrade? Together! Imagine sitting and watching as your nations are swiftly conquered by the Ottomans. Wait as they occupy your country for the next few hundred years. Watch in wonder as the occasional army marches across your great nation towards somewhere more important. Look at the Belgrade province and tell yourself this was all worth it.

Also if paradox refuses to accept my completely reasonable demands I will post a whole bunch of threads. And I will tag every developer in each and every post forcing you all to at least briefly glance at them before ignoring me.

:D Are you really curious what was the exact political situation... most of them are just too crazy even to suggest.
Ottomans: Extremely high war exhaustion, at war with Hungary (and Wallachia ((((and Poland))))), no truce with Venice or any other western self-proclaimed crusader countries. By the way the "not-blockading" fleet of crusaders consisted of 5 Venetian for the Dardanelles and 2 Burgundian galleys for the Bosporus, and the Venetian got the order "Peace was made, Crusade will go on, remain in place, do not attack the Ottomans" XVII century Burgundian sources claim that Genoese ships helped the Ottomans crossing the Bosporus (possibly residents of Galata who later sold out the Byzantine too)
Hungary: Armistice in succession war ends in dec 1444(, after that comes a one-year regency council and a 10 year regency event.) Right now Croatia, Sopron and Pozsony and a northern strip of almost all province is occupied by Bohemian, Austrian and Brandenburg forces, at war with Ottomans, war exhaustion: considerable.
There's also an other scenario when you consider Ladislaus Posthomous the main character of Hungary, in that case there is low legitimacy double regency council PU on Bohemia and Hungary, with Hunyadi and Podjebrad rebelling :)
Karaman: vassal of Ottomans
Serbia: vassal of Ottomans at a separate war with Venetian supported lesser lords occupying southern Zeta. Denied military access to Albania and Hungary in Sep 1444.
Bosnian Kingdom: Northern Bosnia catholic at war with the Principality of Hum.
Principality of Hum: Southern Bosnia, and northern Zeta occupied at war with Bosnian Kingdom, vassalized or subsidized by the Ottomans(though they were harassed as well by Ottoman raiding parties from time to time between 1444-1448) at war with Venetian supported Zeta.
Albania: at war with Ottomans (or Venice too<- in that I'm not sure)
Wallachia: at war with Ottomans

Ottoman tactics should tribe level, and also they should have a mechanism like they raid christian provinces, loot money&manpower and this manpower should count as separate one, and from it could recruit elite soldiers, the Janissary.

Cannons should spread like institution from Bohemia, Italy and Germany embraced it already at the start of the game.

Do you think it would be playable, with a chaotic start like this?

I love it how nowdays every Balkans related thread attracts nationalism whiner trolls / people attempting to be funny by trash talking others in a 10 to 1 ratio vs the people who want to raise some legitimate issue.

Like if your English isnt perfect, and you dont word your thread perfectly you get 20 comments "oh not this thread again" "another nationalist" within 5 minutes.

Seriously people chill out.

Balkans thread used to be bad because of actual Balkans people. Nowdays they are bad because of (mostly) everyone else.

Weird.

What I find funny is that even though I have posted more detailed suggestions about the game not related to the Balkans (which can be seen below) I am still called a 'Serbian nationalist' despite my only aim being to represent one of the most important cities of the Balkans in the game. I was also called a nationalist when asking for more Armenians so I think that the general consensus is that if you want Western countries improved you aren't a nationalist but the moment it's past Slovenia you are a genocidal nationalist who hates everyone but his own people. Also I took a more direct approach this time as pdx worked on Serbia and particularly Belgrade area adding two provinces so I was confused as to why there was still no Belgrade. You can continue to call me whatever you want but all it does is make you look like a fool who can't properly contribute to a grown up discussion so has to get attention by calling someone a nationalist..

This is exactly how I feel.
I didn't see the older threads you mention, but this is definitely true for this one.
It seems some of us genuinely try to improve gameplay and accuracy of the starting situation, yet every second comment is some form of trolling/bashing, ruining the otherwise peaceful conversation.

I'm sorry for my (other) inaccuracy. Yesterday i forgot to mention the funniest one (to me):

Ottomans has royal marriage/consort ties with Serbia xDD

Mara Brankovic, the Despot's sister had been in the harem of Murad II since 1431, later became an influetial advisor of the court.

I'm all for historical accuracy in the map, but imo there are far more pressing areas that need updated rather than adding another province for Ottom- I mean Serbia.

The argument for Belgrade could be made for many other locations as well, and aside from the suggestion of blocking off the Ottoman/Hungarian border for a whopping 3-5 years in-game, it doesn't seem like it will make much difference existing.
