Title: The Royal bloodline

Trigger:
- Heir with low claims
- Legitimacy 45 or lower

Description: My King, your brother/cousin has laid claims on the throne since he doesn't accept your son as member of the royal bloodline. He claims he/she is a bastard and cant take over the throne. Of course is that just a lie my king, but a big part of the nobles is behind him on this, so what will you do my King?

Option:
#1 He calls my son/daughter a bastard, for that he will die! - A -2 stability drop, a pretender rises with a "royal name" with a lot of cavalry(nobles), but gives the heir medium claims instead and +40 legitimacy
#2 Well he's right, my son/daughter is a bastard - The "brother"/"cousin" will be the new heir with strong claims and +1 stability.
#3 The claims on the throne is a problem after my death... - When the present ruler dies the "brother"/"cousin" will rise as a pretender if he isn't dead (???) and a -2 stability drop.

And why would anyone with a sane mind choose any option but 2? Sorry.

Description: Your advisor wishes to introduce new "Sexual Education" classes to help prevent the growing birth rate of bastards.

Effect: "Very well, introduce this new education class" +1 stability +10 legitimacy +2 revolt risk in capital (angered parents and priests)
Effect2: "Blasphemy you bastardous heathen!" -1 stability, lose 5% invested in government tech, +5% capital city growth, yearly papal influence +5, relations with all catholics +20 and -3% national tax modifier.

Wolf in Lion's Coat
Your general always had a renown for his ambition and the devotion of his troops to him. But now, it seems, he has taken advantage of the situation, to topple the government!
Triggers: General must be unit leader, War Exhaustion >5, Stability <0, if Monarchy then Legitimacy <=50.
Option: The unit of the general turns into pretender rebels. If successful in a republic, it turns either feudal monarchy (50%) or despotic republic (50%).
If current government is some kind of Monarchy, then pretenders rise.
If current government is some Republic, then Revolutionaries rise. Result governments: Republican dictatorship, administrative despotism, despotic monarchy. If Centralisation is 3 or more, then maybe Absolute monarchy.
If current government is Theocracy, Innovative Particularists/Revolutionaries rise.

Zealots should be able to change government to Theocracy.

An event to give republics a relationship boost similar to that of a royal marriage for monarchies:

Diplomatic Mission
Trigger: must be a republic
Mr President, our diplomatic embassy to $NATION has paid off. They have signed a new treaty of friendship with us which will bring our two nations closer together.
Result: +25 friendship with a random country in the same tech group; +1% prestige.

And one to move the free trade/mercantilism slider in either direction - but with an added cost to the free trade move since that's generally considered more advantageous.

Political Controversies
Trigger: must have TE of 40%+.
My Lord, rival factions among the great merchant houses have come into conflict over the future direction of our nation's commercial policy. Some argue that we should give subsidies to encourage foreign trade. Others say this would be a waste of money, and we should concentrate on building up our domestic commerce. Which faction should we support?
(Option 1) Subsidise foreign trade: +1 Free Trade, -5% TE for three years.
(Option 2) Concentrate on domestic trade: +1 Mercantilism.

And here's one to give Gilded Iconography a downside:

Iconoclasm
Trigger: must have Gilded Iconography, and Stability less than 1.
My lord, a radical religious movement has arisen, claiming that the practice of decorating our churches with icons and religious images is idolatry. They claim that this blasphemy is the cause of our nation's recent difficulties, and only by purging the icons with fire will we regain God's favour. How shall we react?
(Option 1) Stamp out this heresy: Trigger large heretic rebellion.
(Option 2) No need for hasty action: Temple buildings in 1-3 provinces are destroyed.
(Option 3) They are right: lose modifier 'gilded iconography'.

Title: Religious Massacre!
Description: Our pious subjects are massacring minorities!

Trigger: Before 1650, Tolerance for Heretics/Heathens low, Stability < +2, Probability pretty low - once every 20-50 years or so, perhaps more likely the lower the tolerance and stability are

Option 1:We must protect all our loyal subjects! (stability -1, innovative +1, population growth boost, reasearch and trade income boost for 20 years)
Option 2This is a good lesson for them (gain 100 ducets, stability +1, narrowminded +1, population growth penalty, research and trade income penalty for 20 years)

Basically, this would strengthen the Muslim nations from Infidel assault:

Title: Our Muslim Brothers are under attack by the Infidels!
Description: An nation of Infidels has attacked Muslim lands!
Trigger: A neighboring Muslim nation is defender in a war against a non-Muslim nation
Option 1: Jihad!! Send forth the Holy Warriors! (-5% manpower, -5% force limits)
Option 2: It is their duty to defend there own lands. (no effect)

Title: Our Muslim Brothers come to our aid!
Description: Our Muslim brothers have sent Holy Warriors!
Trigger: Target nation of previous event (Muslim defender against non-Muslim), Option 1 selected in previous event
Option 1: The ranks of the Faithful are swollen! (+5% manpower. +5% force limits)

Another idea for controlling the Mamluk Citadel of Cairo, this would be a modifier to Cavalry of a Muslim nation.

Title: The Citadel of Cairo
Description: We now control the Citadel of Cairo, the main bastion of Mamluk warriors.
Triggers: Muslim, control Cairo, before 1750
Effect: The Citadel of Cairo (Cavalry cost -5%, Cavalry recruitment time -5%, Cavalry shock +1)
