I have always enjoyed Paradox games and this one is no exception. Unfortunately, it is full of bugs and constantly crashing for this reason or another. I am confident that Paradox will fix this problem in time, nonetheless, I would like to mention some of the features that I like versus those that I don't.
Likes: 1) The court system is excellent and challenging. Good marriages can increase your court as well as provide bonuses to your Lord.
2) The prestige concept is very good. I like how it is important to maintain prestige in order to retain loyalty. Grabbing titles is also a good innovation.
3)The vassal and Lord system is also good. True power is dependent on relationships with your vassels.
Dislikes: 1) Many of the title systems are unrealistic. For example, there should be elections for the German Kingship and the title of Emperor seems to be nonexistant (we need a forth tier). Perhaps extra programing for specific kingdoms.
2) Many flaws with the vassal system. For example, if a Duke rebells and gains independence, he should still give homage to the kingdom even if virtually free from higher influence (Kingdoms like France and Germany should not just break apart). Perhaps one other level of athority.
3) You should have the option to force a vassal back into loyalty or give the duchy with all its current vassels to a new lord. (History shows that this was a common occurance).
4) The combat ai is horrible. Time and time again, rulers call upon their vassels to fight the enemy with them and yet never uses their troops. While a king is being smashed, his vassel troops just sit their and do nothing. This has got to be fixed.
I think if these things were added the gave would be greatly improved.
