Are there any plans for another Victoria 2 expansion, and if so what would it be? I'd like to see a bit more depth on the German and Italian Unifications, leading up to a WWI situation, but I'd be happy with most anything

I've heard rumors of a Vic2 expansions but can neither confirm nor deny it at this point.

Expansion, yes.

What do I want to see? A way to have a US Civil War/Chinese Warlords-type mechanism for the Russian Civil War - or any nation that loses a Great War and gets a truckload of militancy and consciousness in the aftermath. It's fun watching other nations go Commie or Fascist with rebels, but the severe national breakdowns in the early 20th century were more than just riff-raff grabbing pitchforks and torches.

A Great Depression system would be added difficulty and interest for the endgame: not only should there be shortages of things, trade should dry up and populations should become more rebellious and extreme. Caving in to demands can avert civil wars or revolutions... or trigger them when the other side has had enough.

Saw the thing on Reddit a few days ago, and I thought it was kind of cool that Vic2 seemed to have been the most asked about game. Maybe the expansion will have an 1880 scenario with improved colonization, but I'm really hoping for improved politics and diplomacy.

I second this, but I'd prefer more politic than diplomacy

I noticed that, Fredrik fielded many questions about it. We may be fewer in number than EU or HoI fans, but we are the most dedicated and passionate IMO.

Agreed, the CK2 map looks so much prettier, they'll probably have to adapt the art style a bit to better fit V2, but please do upgrade to the CK2 maps.

I think they won't do that ,as well as CK2 will not have EU4's (and MOTE) changes.

And that is sad, I'd pay for a map enhancement

...and we all know that deep down, Paradox games are all about the borders. Seriously though, I prefer the paper map-style map of Victoria II over the one in Crusader Kings II - I hate the lines they use to mark borders in that.

Actually the CK2 borders are GREAT because they resemble the COA colors from the owner.

There are lines like that dividing the domain of each independent ruler, and various shades of the same colour (a bit too similar to each other) to indicate duchies and dukedoms, which makes looking at Ireland a real pain for me. Of course in the Vicky 2 timeline this wouldn't be such a problem, but really, the game needs a diplo and economy overhaul (and maybe naval) much more than a graphics update.
