This is a good question. My concern is not the price. I can afford it anyway. I just want to help Paradox make money and therefore more great strategy games.

Yes. Basically we get almost all the money after taxes is paid when people buy from our new webshop. About 5-15 times as much money directly to us.

I wasn't sure about grabbing CK, not really my cup of tea though I am a huge fan and I have EU1 & 2, Vic, & HOI. I might just order it now that I know Paradox is going to get that much of the sale price directly into their treasury...

Well I was just coming to post "Fredrik will answer more technical questions.. but yes, we get a significant greater profit from each game sold through the shop. I don't have the exact numbers and comparisons but its somewhere between 5 times and 15 times as much money for each sold game." -Johan. But it's no use now :(

Wouldn't publishers get pissed if all the loyal fans would go around them and order directly from you? Or are you going to be the only one selling CK?

Same here, though I've only got a debit (bank) card rather than a credit card, so I'm not sure if I wil be able to pre-order from Paradox directly.

I had no real intention of buying CK before.

Now I'll do it for two primary reasons:

1) More money for Paradox - This is always a plus for a company that has eaten the last 2 years of my free time. Bastards, etc. ;)

2) I want to show Johan/Patric/Frederick et al that dumping Strategic Farce as a publisher will cause them to be more profitable. Who am I to argue? :D

And if it turns out that I actually *like* CK, well so much the better.

Just a couple of issues;

VAT should not be included if the game is being shipped to a non-EEC country.

Don't know if Sweden has a particular rule which is different from the rest of the EEC, but you might want to change "shipping" to "shipping and handling" or similar, as VAT is not charged if the shipping fee charged to the customer is exactly the same as the fee charged by the carrier. By adding "and handling" you make it clear that the fee may not be precisely the same as the carrier costs and no one can quibble with the VAT charge.

You might also consider sticking the VAT rate (20% I presume) down as rates vary throughout the EEC.

There's also a possibility that some nations may impose import duty on the purchase, I've had the shipper bill me the import costs after delivery for other goods, it can be a nasty surprise if you're not expecting it :(

I'd suggest Paradox take a look at the legal details for international sales, especially non-EEC sales before going ahead with this get a lawyer to check the rules and look over the site as you can get some real PITA customers sending threatening emails if you get any of this wrong. A company I worked for had to pay out when a State made it into the wrong list and customers were charged sales tax unnecesarily......not a happy occurence.

They won't get upset, i doubt they would even notice the shop......

A 'sneaky bugger' is someone that slips around, not making any noise, doing things that you don't know about.

Kind of like 'Sneaky bastard', or 'sneaky person'.

More money to Paradox = greater chance of more good games for the history goofballs out there (yours truly included)...quite simple, really. :)

VAT always have to be paid somewhere and in order to open up a Credit Card Account we must state on the site where the VAT is paid. We pay the VAT in Sweden, and according to the Swedish Trade Council in the US, the games should not be charged with extra costs.

This can not be 100% guaranteed, but so far it's the best answer I can give... :(

The VAT rate in Sweden is 25%. For all our American friends we hope for a stronger $$$, we chose Euro since it's the rate is closer to the Swedish Krona (in which all our expenses are paid...).
