Why is everyone in the game blazing through Russia again?

Oh oh and world map please!

The short version is that Russia has been acting as an alliance of his own, throwing his weight around and playing Kingmaker with the two big alliances (mine and Austria's). We got fed up with it and decided to form a pan-European alliance against Russian bullying. As Nusia said, we force-released a bunch of stuff and then attacked again to make him revoke cores on the released states.

Well, then, follow up question: Why aren't you spending all that money on mercenaries? Perhaps to annex Groogy? All that Sweet german base tax...

Actually, I'm quite sure that the only reason Moscow fell was because of the far east invasion by crack Napolitan troops. And don't forget the Napolitan navy's blockade of one of the eastern ports.

It was a foggy winter morning as the German Landsknechten dismounted from the Flyte fleet in Constantinople. The Hannoverian soldiers uneasy in this new land far away from their homes. But they had a mission, they had a purpose to being here. This was the Heeresgruppe Süd assigned by the French king to defend the Ottomans if the southern front fell. They of course worried for their home but the much much larger Heeresgruppe Nord was stationed to defend the Baltischen Republik, the soldiers home which would become the frontline against the Russian. The Hanse will not falter to defend Europe against the hordes of Russians. Operation Barbarossa shall be a success, if not Europe is doomed.

I, Niklas Meyer on behalf of der Tagfahrt want to thank the Landsknechten who sacrificed their lives in honor of the Hanse and the Republics therin. Thanks to their deeds we can live freely without fear of the Russian iron glove enveloping us. I can never offer enough compensation to the families of the dead but know this that the Hanse will take care of them. But at least we can take comfort in that for another year we can live in peace and be free!

Actually, ForzaA's been spending the last couple of weeks...

1) Encouraging potential enemies (in particular, the Ottomans) to grow a spine and build an army
2) Unnecessarily interfering in stuff
3) rebuking anything that sounded like commitment.

In short, I was a bit bored, and was spoiling for a fight.

Now, the war went worse than I anticipated, but it helped a lot in highlighting several issues.

Plus, it taught me a few valuable lessons for no real loss (well, Ukraine qualifies to a degree, though 90% of that was still PLC last session..)

Not to mention I finally managed to create WORLD PEACE (well, EUROPEAN peace, at the very least)
