Yes it does not make sense, the ledger is full of information when the on screen war score has nothing. The hope is that it get fixed with the extansion, if possible by giving estimates only in the ledger, or better still if everything gets hidden except if one takes Espionage ideas, and thus get estimates.

Imagine that Mexico was French. Would "French Mexico" be a diferent tag, or is it always the same tag? In mean, a single tag that changes its name and flag according to its overlord? Because that would be awesome xD
This is just a guess but I believe it either uses the name of the historical government from the region - New spain, Thirteen colonies, Cuba, Antilles, Newfoundland. Or if there is not a historical government that fits for your culture + location it generates one. English Mexico being an example. I also believe they are dynamically created tags (probably lifted from the same system used in Victoria II, and changed around and improved a bit)

Russia did not win. We got to 97% warscore and was able to force him to release Ukraine, Crimea, Kazakh and Polotsk. Even if he took some of the land back again after the war, we at least showed him that europe stands united against the gigant blob in the east.
