On sidenote, I hope you remembered to destroy HRE, when you had Madrid sieged.

Such an act would be unacceptable as the Tsar only recognize one Co-Emperor with the Eastern Empire that is Russia. Tsar Pavel have always and will always regard the Lord-Mayor of Gotland as the true inheritor of the Western Roman Empire and any attempts to threaten the sovereignty of the Western Roman Emperor is an attack on the Russian Empire.

Buildings dock plus drydock +6 NFL per province

Unless you have found a trick to get the drydock to NOT replace the dock, you only get the +4 from the drydock.

When he puts 150 lights in venice, 150 lights in genoa (with a trader who collects there), 150 light in constaniople.

It'll take some masterful diplomacy to get into range of all of those without tipping anyone off.

The 150 heavies make sure that nobody tries to DOW this navy. After securing european trade, england can start leeching of india. So late in game, a trade fleet with 50 heavies + 150 light ships pay for themself. even when you are nearly 3 times over naval forcelimit.

Either you get everyone to go against you at the same time (and believe me, France + Spain+ Italy (or whoever) + Ottomans can muster a fair fleet if you're going to bully them like that - they don't need to beat your heavies, they just need to make sure you can't keep your lights trading profitably.
Or they could reroute trade / collect elsewhere / Embargo to limit the value of these trade nodes.. Good luck paying for your fleet then.

I'm not saying it's impossible to pull off - but I am saying it'll take some careful work to do so, and not get smacked down halfway through.

So, it turns out that I want Britain dead.

Curious thing that, I had no idea I wanted Britain dead..

I am now very confused, and wondering if there's a mole somewhere who is withholding critical information from me.

Pressing questions after this MP session:

Will Groogy ever finish in the top 8?
Will Groogy ever contribute more than 4% to a war?
Will Groogy ever be able to have the biggest name?

I think the answer to all of this is no. If only he wasn't a Dane and could speak an intelligible language!

Jokes and bad memes aside, this has been a lot of fun to watch. Thanks for putting this on :)
By the power of Roland, there is a chance :p

With risk of being a bit biased towars my own benefit, it is not always the best option to just gather a grand coalition and go for the nr1 all the time. You have to think on your own situation afterwards and what YOU actually gain on it. The guy in nr2 spot should probably think twice about it.

There is always also a big web of deals/alliances going across the entire globe behind the scenes. So it isn't always as easy to attack certain targets as it might seem.
Many people also care about their words and promises they have given, which might be smart for future campaigns.

I think GB for example chosed a good diplomatic choice by actually asking my alliance for help, instead of joining a coalition against us. He would probably never have passed either France nor Italy otherwise. Same goes for Mughals who needed to pass them in score.

Also if lets say 3 countries co-operate in order to try and get trophies, it might be wise to not start a fight internally for which trophy you get or you might not get anything at all.

We probably needed some player in ayuthaya to balance things out. I am not the only player who did massive expansion into AI countries though.
At the point when I was surrounded by only players and all AI was gone, I had only gobbled up slightly more amount of AI development as mamluks, mughals, burgundy etc.

Next campaign will have some severe tweaks to VC. Me and Yonaz should lose score for losing vc like that.

In the Land of Paradoxes in the Fires of Great Britain, the dark lord of Britain forged in secret a master alliance to control all others.
Into this alliance he poured his cruelty, his malice and his will to dominate all life. One alliance to rule them all.
One by one the free lands of Universales fell to the power of his diplomacy.
But there was some who resisted.
A last alliance of French and Italians marched against the Armies of Britain and on the slopes of Burgundy they (will be fighting) fought for the freedom of Universales!

Don't miss the exciting ending next time, after the mp!

In the finale mamluks and bahamanis took very bad fights with -2 penalty.
Yeah, more than I would've liked to.. It's a bit of a tradeoff.. If you can take out that leaderless 30k before it gets reinforced (that happened a few times too) it's a great deal.. You get the defensive bonus after having taken out 30k.
If you don't, well.. not exactly ideal.

Also everyone brought too many cannons, in those massive 150 vs 200 battles having more than 25 cannons doesn't serve anyone. Next time have tons of infantry for such fights.
Always a trade-off between independently useful stacks and optimal stacks in pile-ups. Given the wide range of fronts I expected I MIGHT be fighting (as it turns out, it was reasonably restricted) I opted for independence as much as possible. Dedicated mercenary infantry stacks getting rolled didn't help..

bled groogy dry. No one used scorched earth. That "untappable max manpower" surely would have sunk.

I at most of the war stood in provinces that in total gave me 4k attrition and still managed. I don't think you understand my insane manpower recovery in combination with Polish cavalry and my mercenary build that just completely dominated the battlefield.

I was even subsidizing several of the nation's in the war effort because my soldiers were so cheap it was ridiculous. For me to build 120 000 men cost me like 750 ducats which is nothing and the maintenance was so low it wasn't noticeable.

Like I said sometimes before "Russian lives are cheap"
But in last session the Russians were cheap but led by 23% discipline high morale and 3 star generals, aided by Polish cavalry with almost 100% combat ability.

Thanks for playing guys, it was super fun. That salt was really funny, but well justified. Daniel really deserved one of these trophies... And he got one. From awhile back I was rooting for Mamluks, so it was satisfying to see them advance just before the end.
*bows*
Johan said you won't be playing next week, any chance of that changing? What about one after that?
I imagine GDC is the main reason not to start a campaign right next week. Also gives everyone a little time to go back to normal after the adrenalin rush and feelings of betrayal of this campaign ;)

I copied Wiz tactics of onions, and never telling a direct lie..

Bahmanis was the one all i would stand by to the end.

next tine, i should be more ruthless. I shouldnt have let groogy survive.

So a long and thanks for all the miss-clicks!

What actually (did not) happen :)

The mp was fun and a great pleasure to finally beat down the dark lord Britain!
See you at World War Wednesday!
