Also Mughals don't gain much from this war, So they might not fight as hard if only Italy had better relations with them ;). Bahamanis simply secures first place.

I wanted to get provinces from Ottomans, but primarily I wanted to even out the playing field from place 2-8 :)

Daniel was fighting a bit like a cornered dog. Instead of constantly repelling attacks, they should have tried to peace out Iberia and Burgundy quickly. France should have went to Iberia and Italy and Bohemia to Burgundy. And I think they would have won then as a lot of troops from Bahmanis, Mughals and Mamluks wouldn't arrive yet. Plus, the forts in Iberia and Burgundy were not advanced. It is easy though to say now.

This is exactly what we should have done, however our brains don't seem to work that well under pressure :p The 50% warscore that you need to force someone out of the war is a bitch, just getting 41% against Spain from having most of Iberia seiged down didn't quite do it.

Well focusing down a country is easier said then done when you're literally being attacked everywhere. By the time you finish you might find your home land fully occupied.

A salty soup was brewed this MPLAYER session. Italy will still be very powerful afterwards so Daniel don't worry too much. This alliance block will break apart fast and I sense the focus is about to shift to india.;)

Build up those forts yonaz or you may come to regret it.

I think its a bit lame that they want 100% separate peaces just because they didn't set Italy as co-belligerent. I bet this wont be forgotten soon.

On sidenote, I hope you remembered to destroy HRE, when you had Madrid sieged.

Such an act would be unacceptable as the Tsar only recognize one Co-Emperor with the Eastern Empire that is Russia. Tsar Pavel have always and will always regard the Lord-Mayor of Gotland as the true inheritor of the Western Roman Empire and any attempts to threaten the sovereignty of the Western Roman Emperor is an attack on the Russian Empire.

your fleetnumbers are really low for 1730.

Exspecially UK, what ideas did he pick? UK without colos in 1730 should have around 150 heavies, 800 lights, a trader in every trade node and leech money from rest of world.

NFL: Exploration +25%, maritim +50%, expansion + maritim +33% and trade idea for merchants, are 4 of 8 slots, rest into mil ideas.

Buildings dock plus drydock +6 NFL per province

UK island province number: 30 + 25*6=180*2,13 =383 basic naval forcelimit.

When he puts 150 lights in venice, 150 lights in genoa (with a trader who collects there), 150 light in constaniople.

With colos his number should be simply higher.

The 150 heavies make sure that nobody tries to DOW this navy. After securing european trade, england can start leeching of india. So late in game, a trade fleet with 50 heavies + 150 light ships pay for themself. even when you are nearly 3 times over naval forcelimit.

And if england gets bored, he simply trade war rest of europe with blockade ports goal. so that every european major has to give england 50% of there tradepower.

When it is really about France + Italy+ ottman, a UK with ,my idea setup should be able to solo this 3 countries in the next 10 years.

Take 20 loans (should be around 20*500=10000 gold) and bring up your navy. scout france, italy, ottman main navy bases, justify trade war, park your heavies in front of there habors and use your light ships to get every port of this 3 nations blockaded.
Use a small siege army to siege islands they have, which they cannot protect.

DOW this 3 countires without calling your allies. Get your 30-40% warscore through blockading ports plus island sieges. Peace out for trade power or the islands.

even when this 3 countries now start a navy programm, they need years to build up a little navy, and there income gets trouble to feed there armies.

When england sits on 0% land maintance most of the time.

Really should have grabbed a screenshot from earlier in the war so Bohemia and the Ottomans could be included in the green, but this is impressive all the same. Helluva job to all the people who organized the fight. Stay strong, Fritaly. Do not go quietly into the night! Do not vanish without a fight!

I don't know Daniel obviously, but that was kind of funny. They did not persecute that war particularly well, but I it would have been very hard to win in any case, I am not judging them for getting to where they are now. They could still "win" in that the alliance does not have particularly good unit cohesion and France and Italy seem to have better communication.

Can you guys get Bohemia to revoke military access or something, that would slow down enemy troop movement quite a lot.

Thank you to the devs for a great stream. DDRJake is doing a great job narrating and with the after streaming interviews. My love for EU 4 have returned. I started watching the latest streams on twitch and ended up watching this stream from episode one on youtube.

During the latest stream i was curious about how the war went for the colonial nations. I expect the french colonies was overwhelmed early in the war by the other AI colonies?

Keep up the good work.

I am hugely looking forward to the stream tomorrow. I watched World War Wednesday just to see if Daniel had calmed down even though he would be sitting across from Johan, and to his remarkable credit lol, he had.

Just chiming in to agree. This is the most fun I had watching EU4, or any gaming for that matter, in a long time, and that includes DDRJake's single player campaigns. Fantastic job by everyone at Paradox, be it players, the caster (Jake) and all the people behind the scenes who help to produce this content! The growing pains (audiosync issues etc) seem to be fixed, and now it is simply awesome.

I like to flatter myself by thinking I goaded them last November into putting some effort into the youtubez :p:
One small request: These office multiplayer session on twitch are awesome, but they are archived nowhere (except for the last episode on twitch, which is a pain). Would it be possible to make all the multiplayer streams available on youtube as well (https://www.youtube.com/user/ParadoxExtra for example) so we can enjoy DDRJake-commented multiplayer at our leisure?

And to anyone who had no interest in watching before: I strongly suggest you give it a try, it is well worth it!

WWW is just Italy fast-forwarded a few centuries later. He built up a lot of revanchism over the years, went fascist because of it, and that's how we've ended up with "Germany" advancing upon the lands of those who ruined him back in the 18th century.

Also, I think it's safe to say that Britain is the one who hasn't calmed down over all of this years. Still jealous that Austro-Italian-Polish-Prussian-NGF-Livonian Order-Germany is winning the game.

your fleetnumbers are really low for 1730.

Why do people disagree with this? I'm curious because I've read about this strategy before but never found any details on it. Would be interested in why the strat works / does not work.

Buildings dock plus drydock +6 NFL per province

Unless you have found a trick to get the drydock to NOT replace the dock, you only get the +4 from the drydock.

When he puts 150 lights in venice, 150 lights in genoa (with a trader who collects there), 150 light in constaniople.

It'll take some masterful diplomacy to get into range of all of those without tipping anyone off.

The 150 heavies make sure that nobody tries to DOW this navy. After securing european trade, england can start leeching of india. So late in game, a trade fleet with 50 heavies + 150 light ships pay for themself. even when you are nearly 3 times over naval forcelimit.

Either you get everyone to go against you at the same time (and believe me, France + Spain+ Italy (or whoever) + Ottomans can muster a fair fleet if you're going to bully them like that - they don't need to beat your heavies, they just need to make sure you can't keep your lights trading profitably.
Or they could reroute trade / collect elsewhere / Embargo to limit the value of these trade nodes.. Good luck paying for your fleet then.

I'm not saying it's impossible to pull off - but I am saying it'll take some careful work to do so, and not get smacked down halfway through.

This sounds fine and good if you are bottled up in the isles and your opponents are reactive rather than proactive. It doesn't work against opponents who have no reservations about teaming up (say, all coworkers?), when you hold accessible-by-land territory (eg Norway, low countries, korea), and it doesn't work if your opponents are keeping tabs on your naval developments and responding with buildup of their own long before you hit that size. It's not like they have to match your navy, they just have to match the navy in their respective node and DOW you when on top of it, oldschool byz strat style.

Finally, and most importantly, I don't see how this results in victory cards or otherwise wins you the score game.
