Jake just mentioned something like you can't block a strait with your fleet if you aren't controlling both sides of it, and if you do this, well, there is no need to block it anyway. I'd like to have a clarification on this too, as it would be a really bad change. Not like fleets are unimportant enough as they are currently.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

So Russia was bored, so he broke the alliance with Hungary. This prompted Ottomans to declare on Hungary. Russia immediately restored the alliance with Hungary and joined the war. Mughals joined the war on Ottomans side, but peaced out for money. Mamluks took this as an opportunity to declare on Ottomans. Mughals joined again, but peaced out again. Hungary has Balkans occupied.

With Hungary Russia out of the way, Burgundy declared on Great Britain. Great Britain/Spain/Portugal/Denmark vs Burgundy/France/Austria. Spain lost 2 neapolitan provinces to Austria. GBR lost Caen and Calais to Burgundy, and Gascogne to France.

Most of Europe embraced the reformation, so Spain is the emperor.

Austria ate Milan. I guess Milan wanted to move on.

Korea lost the war againt Japan :(

It's entirely possible that I fudged the wording on the stream, but if the enemy controls both sides of a strait you cannot block their movement with a fleet.

Ahhh ok. You basically gave 'Team Byzantium' a massive heart attack when you said on stream that you could only blockade a strait if you controlled both sides.

Ah well, now thats okay. If you dare to leave your lovely straits unsecured for a moment, you deserve that it punishes you afterwards. We are just used to interprete every piece of information in the worst way possible I guess :p

A potential nerf to Byzantium is not the "worst" way possible. ALL HAIL THE SULTAN OF RUM!!!

At this point they should just build in a bearhaslanded style decision humans can take even in ironman that instantly forces others to cede all Byz cores back and adds claims on the entire Constantinople, Crimea, and Aleppo trade nodes. It's time to just stop fighting the "Byz strategy for patch number point number number?" threads and just pay them off and be done with it. You might need to take a couple cold showers before you can sleep, but it'll be for the best.
