The problem with Buddhism is they're so far down the rung of power that they're just not entertaining to play. You can't go tall with them, +60% tech costs. You can't expand very well, +60% tech costs. You're at the merc of never rolling below a 3 for miltiary, +60% tech costs. None of the buddhists are particularly powerful so you can't roll up multiple +2 advisors to get past tech costs.

It's not that buddhism is BAD, it's that if you put any religion in an area that crappy people would complain.

Ehhhhh... It's pretty bad.

The thing is, even if you got the Buddhist bonuses for free without juggling they are only 'good'. They aren't super amazing, like Reformed, Protestant and even Shia's mass morale or the Catholic things you can get from Papal Favour puts the 5% discipline/+1 Dip rep Buddhism gets at best to a questionable level. You add the fact you've not only got to juggle to get your bonuses that if you fail to you are actively punished? No other religion punishes you as hardly as Buddhism does and even if you get it right it's bonuses are at best 'pretty okay I guess'.

Hinduism for example is pretty amazing despite the fact it's starts are only slightly better in tech compared to Chinese. It's only major weakness is being slightly lacking in conversion strength but that's not a 100% deal breaker and there are workarounds. Buddhism getting -10% discipline is an absolute deal breaker and the benefits don't come close to outweighing it. I'd still rather have the non common sense version rather than risk juggling. The risk is simply not worth the reward and for it to be worth it, it would have to be borderline broken.

This is another reason why I want to see what the Devs pick if they start with 32 custom nations. I want to see what ideas, how much land they take versus ideas, Monarchy, Theocracy or Republic but also in those choices is that of religion. See what people choose when they are not constrained by area. Whether it's just for fun (which is also a currency) or playing to win.

I'm pretty sure all the devs would end up on the take as much land as possible we can used pure numbers to deal with crappy ideas philosophy, if anyone didn't they would probably be killed in the cradle before superior ideas could matter

Wouldn't that signify that ideas need to be slightly more point efficient then? Which of course they do... Also keep in mind the world is a big place with 32 custom nations only. Remember under these settings no other nations exist aside the ones made by people. Any land unoccupied is uncolonised and everyone starts with one colonist.

Hmm.. It seems that 'last mp stable' was mainly done to fix horde's losing prestige bug for Timurids player. :D

wait what are we changing about Zone of Control? I don't remember seeing anything about this
Wiz said about it at his twitter. No further information though.

Before the war I already knew what the coalition wanted and was already offering it to them before the war had even started to Hungary but was turned down. Ottomans declared the war still and when I offered my unconditional surrender he ignored it and kept occupying my stuff in order to devastate me completely so I can not turn around in the future. (Why fight a war you can't win when you can recover instead and come back later). So I decided I had better stuff to do during my work hours and left.

And yes I've already proposed a mechanic for how to let players surrender unconditionally but at the same time saving their nation from hostile nation ruining.
