Paradox looking for Techical Assistant

I can do all of the Technical/Infrastructure side of the job, but my programming experience is non existent other then troubleshooting.

Is it that often that you have a programmer that can do the DNS/DHCP/Infrastructure side of the house? In my experience it is two completely separate realms. Although if you guys are a small window's shop, I don't see why you can't farm this out? It might be cheaper then running a dedicated setup.

Add to the fact that I am a US citizen, and would need a sponsor.

But if the New York office needs help, I would be more then willing to help....

Actually, I am a system administrator, and I do quite a lot of the DNS/DHCP stuff at my current job. Also I'm a VB programmer, and I maintain and update our servicedesk-tool, which is written in VBA.

So there are people who can do both, unfortunately for me, I have not much experience in C++ (although my EU3-playing roommate can, so perhaps we could apply together ), but I am willing (and able) to learn, I know at least the basics of C++

And my main argument for not wanting to move somewhere else is because I have an EU3-playing roommate, but who cares for that if you actually MOVE to the place where EU3 and other great games are made....

It sure is tempting, this one....

All i'd have to learn would be Visual Basic and playing a ukulele (and yes, i know you want to have a ukulele-playing codemonkey, Johan).

Too bad i can't just quit school. Argh.

Sounds really interesting. I guess already living in Stockholm would be considered a good thing, even though my C/C++ skills are a bit rusty.

Word of advice: don't mention already living in Stockholm anywhere I can read it (such as here on the forums) .. I'm increasingly likely to consider non-lawful means of shortening the queue here

...So yeah, I guess living in Stockholm already would be a major plus, although probably more for yourself than for paradox. (though, all else being equal, they'd probably pick the Stockholmer)

I am proficient at ANSI C (c89), ANSI C++ (c++98), visual basic (quite a useless skill now, except perhaps vb.net), SQL. I have done a small amount of directx and a lot of ActiveX (COM) on windows, but most of my 3D coding is in opengl. I used visual studio for years, but I develop most of my code in GNU / Linux using gcc these days.

I'm a native english speaker, and am fluent in classical latin and homeric greek (epic), but I don't know any scandinavian languages. Which I guess rules me out. In addition I'm located in england, so the commute would be a challenge

Looks like paradox is expanding its staff count. There's no doubt that HoI3 is a heavy work which needs a lot of labor. I think adding a new staff in paradox company will reflect badly on the price of the hoI3 :wacko: Isn't it?
