Paradox Launcher fails to install.

I just downloaded the Paradox launcher. It shows that Stellaris is linked to my Steam account. so I click play and the MSI downloads. But it doesn't fully install says there is some sort of error and I should contact Paradox.

I hope I can get some help. I didn't get much from the Discord.

There was a bug with the launcher installer like this (which I was seeing too), but that was fixed a couple of weeks ago. I'm not sure how or why you could be getting it now. Is there anything unusual about your machine or Windows setup?

FYI of the games you have registered here only Stellaris can be played with the launcher. The rest still need Steam.

Not understanding what Discord have to do with this issue, sorry?

I haven't updated to windows 10 1809 yet. There shouldn't be anything unusual about my computer. it's a i5 3570k & 16 GB RAM.

I was asking about the issue in discord. No one was familiar with the issue.

Not very useful that it only tells us what the error is not, not what it is!

Do make sure that all traffic to and from api.paradoxplaza.com is allowed through all your firewalls.

You may have up to three firewalls operative: Windows' own one, any you may have installed in Windows, and any in your internet router or modem.

I can't give you a detailed guide on how to use your firewalls, I'm sorry - there are hundreds of them out there!

You may need help from whatever support resources they have. Allowing traffic to and from a given site is a standard feature of firewalls, you may find simply googling that phrase along with your firewall name will help you.

The problem is as far as I know, I only have Win 10. While there I couldn't figure out a way to add the api.

It's not an api as such, it's just a web address that happens to include the letters a p i in its name.

A bit of googling found this:

And a ping showed api.paradoxplaza.com resolves to 13.35.27.132

That site shows an Inbound rule, but you'd also need to do an Outbound rule to let traffic through both ways.
