Is it WaD for the launcher to give a General Error when trying to start it directly from the exe instead of launching the game from Steam?

That is the error you get when you run Paradox Launcher.exe directly, yes. It is designed to only be run from Steam or our standalone Paradox client.

Thank you for the reply. I do want to run mods, but I hate having to go back to Steam and re-launch that way every time I need to re-start the game. Could you please reconsider this functionality?
