I want to stress again that I don't actually consider any of this very important. I think it's silly to get worked up over a demo. I tried the demo. I realized it wasn't really playable. I stopped playing. Simple. Some games are released with great demos. Some are not. I think this one falls in the latter category, but can't really claim to care.

Some games lend themselves well to the demo format, especially those divided into levels or maps. But with EUIII and a demo that could save all you'd need would be a no time limit hack (which people were making before the time limits were exported) and you'd have the full game.
