But isn't it only PDS and PI published games which the sync sees? Or if I say purchased East Indian Company would I then get that icon despite PI not holding the publishing rights anymore?

As we once held the rights it's still in our database so in theory the answer is yes. I checked Achtung! Panzer which we no longer own but it's still in our database since we once held the license. I will actually have to double check this but I think it's designed so no icons go walkabout if we loose a license.

I would very much like confirmation on this, since the sync has stopped me purchasing PI published games during sales exactly due to possibly losing the icon later on. (I don't really have time to play all those published games plus they don't work natively on Linux, so in the past I mainly purchased them on sales to support PI.)

Update on the above Wagonlitz, they will disappear. The users that still have items that we lost the rights to had redeemed codes for the icons. On a different topic I've added two more:

At least you and I both managed to get many of them registered before the CD codes disappeared meaning they can't be removed from us.It does break my heart indeed !

On a semi-related topic, @TinyWiking , can you see to it changes are made to the Owned Items page ? I just bought a couple of things, it synched, for a moment, i lost all my icons and when it can back, i had to manage all the cons again... it's a pain to do, being sent back to the top of the page all the time....

Nothing has been done as of yet, we have "a few" improvements that are in the works (mainly layout and icon organization) but they are not yet implemented. I'm thinking of possibly doing a forum Q and A session for the fangathering (if there is interest) and if the changes haven't been made by then I may show of what we are thinking of.

I have a request for the Stellaris forum icons: can they please be de-coupled so I can show off my Galaxy icon without taking two other slots? When I heard that people who got the higher edition would get the icons for the edition below it as well I was happy (I liked Galaxy's better, but what's to say someone wouldn't prefer Nova's), until I realized it meant that I'd be using three slots rather than one to show off my shiny icon. Since I prefer to keep my displayed icons tidy, using the two extra slots has made things harder on me.
DOn't worry; the galaxy icons count as one icon and de facto only takes up one slot. Hence why you can have more than 54 icons showing when having the galaxy or nova icons on---same goes for HOI4 by the way. That's the reason I'm able to sport 58 icons!
So you'll still be able to show 53 other icons despite the galaxy icon appearing to be 3 icons.

I'm not concerned about the maximum limit, I'm concerned about how many rows it takes up. I'm considering going back to three rows, but I think it looks nicer with just two.

I sure hope so as well! The plugin is custom built by our developers since it's not a standard addon for Xenforo and whenever they tweak it we need to make sure it doesn't break anything that is built into the forum software. It's a tricky little plugin that hasn't seen much of a change since we moved over to this forum software and as such we need to keep a lot of things in mind when taking it to the next step.
Hopefully it will be awesome once done but it's a slow process since the same developers are also working on things from the rest of the company
