Generally speaking it's really not that relevant for Paradox. For several reasons.

§1 - Paradox is not exactly in need of additional funding. Our problem is rather that we have a finite amount of time for projects - we can only release so many grand strategy games per year for instance.

§2 - Kickstarter is good for speculative project - "we don't know if this will be profitable - so lets try to find out first" - but we generally do have a good understanding if things will be profitable or not.

§3 - Kickstarter is inherently a democratic process - ie you pitch in and do you part and expect a result. Making games is not a democratic process - in fact a democratic game process or "design by committee" is the absolutely worst way to make games. A struggle for game makers and publishers is setting expectations and giving the players what they want - Kickstarter funded projects would make this even more difficult.

Essentially kickstarter isn't that diffirent from any regular venture capital or outside investement - which as you know is not something Paradox does. We do it our way because it's our way and we know it works - and we don't want anyone on the outside telling us what to do. As long as things are going great we don't see the need to change the forumula
