PARADOX, i got a bunch of mails from a Russien man who need some assistense.. (GCOH)

Can some of you with the knowlage assist me in a matter..
I got many mails from a man, claiming that he have mailed Paradox many many times, without reciving any replay, so i saied i would try to assist him a little.

He say he have HOI2 and Checkode GCOH
Also he say he have v1.2 and MP fix instaled.

So he cant play online since ppl have YQHQ or UPHQ...


He dont manage to registrate at forum as well, so thats way i post his problem for him??

I told him first to contact paradox, but he have done that over 10 times he claim?



Anyway i told him to reinstall the game and Patch v1.1 and then patch v1.2´. He did so, and got checkode GCOH he say.

After my way of anderstanding it, should he had YQHQ? But anyway, he wounder what to do to be able to play online, with YQHQ or UPHQ.





So if any of you vise Paradox men, or any other players see this and know the anwser, maby you can post an short explenation, i will just send him link to this page.

I doubt there is much that can be done here without the Russian guy registering and talking with tech support directly, but here's to hoping.

Well, assuming that the patches are applied to a clean install and no manual modifications have been made, then the only conclusion must be that one or rmore of the files that are not affected by either of the patches must be different in the Russian version.

I don't have access to that, but since you (obviously) are in direct contact with your friend, I suggest the following:

Both you and your friend should install an unmodified 1.0 version (thus, a clean installation without applying any patch), and then check the checksum values for both your and your friend's installation. If they are different (as I suspect), then the Russian version is somehow crucially different from the distributed version of other publishers.

Which version of the game did he buy? If he bought it online from Paradox then that is a different version from the retail version and is not compatible for multiplayer play, alas. See http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?p=4203536#post4203536 for details.

I have not heard of the Russian version not having the same checksum.

I'm in USA and I've had the same problem.

For some reason the multiplayer people have decided to modify the code in misc.txt file as follows for UPHQ:

Change reinforcement manpower cost from .8 to .4

I am not sure what changes are made for the other version you mention.

The only way I found this out and fixed it was through chatting with other players on vnet.
