Paradox forum profile join date

Anyone know how Paradox determines the "join date" it stamps on your forum profile? My initial thought was based on when you created your forum profile. However, my join date is wayyy back in 2007 and I most certainly did not have a profile then. I am pretty sure I created it just recently when I purchased CKII. The only other thing I can think of is they have some way of knowing when you purchased your first Paradox game title, since that is around when I bought one of the EU versions.

Correct, it's the creation date of your account.
