The reason why I am pretty lenient when it comes to Paradox releases is that I know how they were in the past. I saw the improvements that this company has managed to pull off over the last 15 years from EU2 to CK2, so it's easier for me to accept the results. Would I like to get my perfect paradox game on relase? Yeah, sure. But I know that PDS is still a pretty small studio and it has very limited manpower to create rather complex games. It's not exactly indie-levels of leniency, but certainly more than I have for, let's say, EA or Ubisoft.
And in the end, Paradox is pretty good at patching stuff (for free), so I can rely on them to fix critical problems rather quickly these days.
Doesn't mean you have to negate the mistakes, problems and errors. And if you think that a Paradox release doesn't offer enough for your buck, then it's fine to wait until the first few addons/DLCs are out and grab the whole thing on discount. I can understand why that new DLC model can feel annyoing - honestly, I'd prefer the good ol' addons as well.
