Hi I have a problem. I can't connect to Paradox Connect and I with an original version of the game Univesalis DW Europe this game is not on steam (sorry for the mistakes I'm Polish) Help :ninja:

It was only a test and Paradox decided it didn't work well enough to justify the time spent to maintain it.
Note that EU4 is expected to use Steam achievements instead (as it will be a Steam-only game).

It's a shame that it turned out this way but it was only achievements so it's not a huge loss...
I remember when it happened a few months ago I thought it was because I had imported extra music into the game folders and that EU3 was counting that as a mod. I spent at least an hour figuring out what music was original or not before checking the forums and finding out that they had cancelled Paradox Connect altogether.
I feel that they could have at least made in the message you get when you hover over the icon with the mouse, but again it's not like much was lost so I'm just glad that the game still works fine.

I thought it was good thing, because I never used that feature and I was annoyed when game tried to connect me, just because I moved mouse pointer over a wrong place.
It might be possible that you can buy EUIV from Gamersgate. Gamersgate sells some Steam only games, like Shogun 2, which require Steam activation before you can play.
Yes, there were some problems with implementation that probably contributed to the decision to drop it.
Yes you will be able to buy keys from many places but they all lead to a Steam download. As with previous Paradox games you don't need Steam to run the game though, only to install it (and install patches and DLC).
I did too, but now they're basically a 3rd-party suppliers of Steam key-codes.
Not that I'm complaining. Steam is pretty good, aside from the clunky update system.
It's unfortunate that Paradox Connect didn't work, I would've rather seen that than have to go through steam, well, when a monopoly gets to big I guess it is hard to go around it....

No. It's not possible.
