I'm buying the sale on Steam (even if i already have the most of the games that really interests me). Imagine a 87%-discount on this thing you really really love. Ok, now - stop imagining because on Steam, it's for real. An 87% discount!

Its seriously tempting to buy that package even though i already own most of the titles (HoI 2, 3, SF, EUIII, Vicky, Vicky 2, etc etc).. to have it all in one, easy to access place is very nice.. but Steam and Paradox titles doesnt seem to be the best of friends (beta patches, modding, etc etc).. which is why i've always gotten my Paradox titles from GG. But i am seriously tempted here, i must admit.

I really like users like you Novfanaion...you remind me of myself when i started gaming So, out of the complete pack, how many did you manage to register here in the forums ?
Dont even try for Lionheart, after numerous mails back and forth, Steam told me today that my problem is not with them but with Paradox support !!!

True. But on the other side we have the current DW delay or I remember how Steam managed to include Semper Fi in sales twice last summer, when Paradox didn't want it to be part of the deal. Steam is a good platform to sell units, but a good sale support is something different imho.

To be honest I think there's zero chance that Steam having monopoly. Things have a natural evolution, an ebb and flow. There will always be a chunk of gamers that will always shun steam (primarily where GG and others find their customers). That's besides those publishers who actually do sell directly from their own websites.

Right now Steam is doing great and others are trying to catch up. In a few years the online climate will have changed and Steam won't have such a dominant position.

Well, the only current weakness from Steam is that Valve is rather small, compared to other giants out there. So yes, I also doubt that they'll manage to create a monopoly.
But I disagree that a monopoly is unlikely in general, best example is Apple who unite hardware with sale platforms. They grew so strong in the music market alone, that opponents as Google or MS struggle to compete, while even the music companies are almost their beggars.
So especially Microsoft would be in an excellent position to create a monopoly in the games market, they just need to (ab)use all their natural advantages when they create Windows 8.

Ha, just the ones that I've got here. The others were either "invalid" or didn't provide a CD-key.

In case of the DLCs, I guess that you'd have to held Steam responsible. AFAIK DLC is never included in such packages in their shop.

There is Vicky 2 and HOI3 DLC in that package.

Is there any chance this Pack will also be on offer as a daily deal (seriously doubt it, but doesn't hurt to ask)?

Even though I already have Vic1, Vic2 and M&B, the pack is still great voor all the EU, HOI's, SOTS, etc!
(And I don't mind giving Paradox my money )

PPS. Oh, and why the enormous difference in pricing? €35 in the UK, €55 in Europe, €60 in the US?

Im waiting a long Time for this Complete Pack.
The last Time Steam got this great Deals,i thought how great it would be to buy an Complete Pack from Paradox and now there it is.

Fantastic deal. I had a number of the games in this package already, but the price was so sensationally low that I purchased the pack. Haven't looked at all the serial keys yet, but at least Supreme Ruler doesn't have a serial key included. This will/can be fixed though, so it's okay with me. I almost do wish that Sream had fewer deals, though! My pile of unplayed games steadily increases.

Victoria 2 is a daily deal at Steam now, for just 10,50€. Half the price that Gamersgate or Impulse request, with their 50% deals.

Maybe, but since they have a known problem with the serial key to Lionheart that they just ignore and known multiplayer issues with EU3, is it worth the risk? I just bought Lionheart and was so disappointed i went running back to GG...

Best thing to do is to ask paradox if Steam version of those games should contain CD key - I had same problem last year with Steam version of HoI2 and I was told by Paradox, that Steam version wasnt given any CD keys (so it was Paradox fault) and that it wont change.

Actually, Raptor, the Lionheart issue is a sad one. Paradox has already confirmed that they have forwarded the appropriate cd keys to Steam a long time ago, making it a clear Steam problem. Despite that of course (and my being on the 5th email to them), they still choose to run around the issue in circles instead of just giving the serials. In the Lionheart forum, you'll find a whole number of people that share the predicament
