According to
MobyGames:
"GamersGate AB is a worldwide digital distribution portal which was launched in April 2006 by Paradox Interactive. Theodore Bergquist is President and CEO of GamersGate as well as Paradox Interactive AB...."
I'm pretty sure that information is outdated. GamersGate is a separate company now so far as I know. It's been asked and answered many times over the forum but I can't find a dev post right now for your reference. However you should be able to locate one if you search for it.
@Shams / PDox:
The confusion seems to be stemming from the fact that apparently the separation of GG and PDox was never widely documented. Even Wikipedia has this entry when you look up the Paradox Interactive article:
Wikipedia said:
Paradox Interactive is a Swedish video game developer based in Stockholm that is known for producing historical strategy computer games. It is also a video game publisher, publishing its own games as well as others through traditional retail channels as well as digital distribution services, such as GamersGate. The lead game programmer is Johan Andersson.
In fact this leads to a suggestion I may or may not have said before (I honestly can't recall): For Paradox to fully use the potential of Wikipedia. Right now most, if not all, articles on wikipedia regarding Paradox and Paradox games are outdated, incomplete, wrong, or non-existent. If I recall there was a marketing person from Paradox roaming the forums around the time that Acheivements were introduced. Maybe he can look into it. Wikipedia is too large of an information source, atleast in North America, to be ignored the way it is now.
Potentially start a small thread asking for volunteers to contribute to the writing/updating/correcting of Wikipedia articles. Select a small group of the volunteers that come forward. Let them write the articles because I'm pretty sure PDox writing it's own articles is against the rules. Reward the writers with some reasonable prize for their efforts. And there you have it, fresh, nicely formatted, up-to-date, and informative Wikipedia articles on Paradox and Paradox games providing free marketing to the millions that use Wikipedia. Written by Paradox fans, so hopefully their enthusiasm will shine through as well.
Anyways,
Enjoy.
