Where is my LGBT in history dlc?
So according to you, I am "mad, ridiculous, have had bad upringing and education, have no understanting of human psychology, alone in my sad views". That's a bit much for one man, don't you think ? especially after only reading 2-3 post of me on a public forum.
One other problem is that focusing on the role of some women in politics, military, science etc... has the consequence of overlooking the role of women who raised children and were the centerpiece of the traditional family. That is a big problem of feminism, also today : belittling and despising the stay-at-home mothers and wives (who also worked, had an important social role in the community ec...).
Feminism in not only a war against men, it is also a war against women who wish to focus on the beautiful and important role of raising children.
John Knox said:For who can denie but it repugneth to nature, that the blind shal be appointed to leade and conduct such as do see? That the weake, the sicke, and impotent persones shall norishe and kepe the hole and strong, and finallie, that the foolishe, madde and phrenetike shal gouerne the discrete, and giue counsel to such as be sober of mind? And such be al women, compared vnto man in bearing of authoritie. For their sight in ciuile regiment, is but blindnes: their strength, weaknes: their counsel, foolishenes: and judgement, phrenesie, if it be rightlie considered.
Wade-Giles makes my eyes bleed.
Pinyin is much less rational than Wades-Giles, imho.
It's not wholly deterministic, closer to DHEs from what I can see. For instance, the Catherine the Great event:
Code:# Queen Catherine II (the Great) (1729-1796) country_event = { id = women_history_events.2 title = women_history_events.2.t desc = women_history_events.2.d picture = wihgfx_FEMALE_RULER_eventPicture trigger = { tag = RUS is_year = 1729 NOT = { is_year = 1800 } is_female = no has_regency = no is_lesser_in_union = no NOT = { OR = { ADM = 3 DIP = 3 MIL = 3 } } OR = { has_heir = no has_female_heir = no } NOT = { has_global_flag = wih_catherine_rus_flag } } mean_time_to_happen = { months = 200 } immediate = { hidden_effect = { set_global_flag = wih_catherine_rus_flag } } option = { name = women_history_events.2.a define_ruler = { name = "Yekaterina" dynasty = "Romanov" adm = 6 dip = 6 mil = 5 female = yes } } option = { name = women_history_events.2.b add_adm_power = 100 add_dip_power = 100 add_mil_power = 100 define_advisor = { female = yes type = statesman #spymaster skill = 2 name = "Yekaterina Romanov" } } }
Requires a weak ruler, and no heir.
EDIT: Like, believe me, if it was EU2 style 'on this date you get X ruler/advisor'? I'd turn it off. But it's not like that, from all the events I can see in the files.
Fascinating.
Correct me if I'm wrong - you've got nothing against the events that make female characters advisors(which most of the WiH events seem to do) but only object to events that also have the option to make them rulers? Or even more generally - historical railroading is bad only if it affects who the current ruler is? That is to say, who cares if advisors or trade goods or Burgundian Inheritance happens, it's the occasional and rare ruler that really is the problem?
By my count you've posted on this thread 16 times on this thread...with gems such as...
Some striking similarities.
The real target of Knox's diatribe against female rulers in general was his current monarch, Mary I, for the most part because she was Catholic. The biggest irony was that when the Protestant Elizabeth I ascended the throne, for some reason she didn't take kindly to John Knox's imprudent attack on female rulers in general.
The DLC isn't a DLC.
The new women are in the patch, new event file. Silly marketing terminology.
I'm just going to stop poking him with a stick and hand the baton over to you as you're doing a much better job of it. This is great stuff. I'm grinning from ear to tear. Turning into a history lesson too to boot.
The event forces the Romanov dynasty on a Russian state, this should be removed. Catherine married into House Romanov but what if House Romanov never rose in your game but instead the Rurikovich ruler remained for example? Considering your not following history in this game she should instead inherit the dynasty of the previous ruler which is implied to be her husband(trigger = female = no).
Do you have Songs of Yuletide enabled and installed in Steam? It seems to be the reason why Women in History is/are inactive.EDIT 2: If only the DLC could appear in my launcher I'd stop reading this hilarious thread and go play.

Sorry, I must have explained more clearly. I meant you won't have Women in History active and listed in the launcher unless you have Songs of Yuletide installed and checked in Steam.I have both enabled/active.
Women in History doesn't appear in Steam as a separate DLC. Install Songs of Yuletide (you don't have to activate it in the launcher) and Women in History should show up in the launcher.I doon't have Songs of Yuletide and I can't see Women in History. I have:
Star & Crescent
Conquest of Paradise
Wealth of Nations
Res Publica
Art of War
El Dorado
Conquest of Constantinople Music
Horsemen of the Crescent Units
But no Women in History, anywhere.
