It would be nice if Paradox would give this much attention and emphasis to representation of other minorities in their games, but I guess it's to be expected that even when it comes to representation they'll still prioritize the ideology run by and geared around wealthy/upper middle class white Europeans and descendants over the rest of the world.

Its hard not to when they have written a lot of the history.

The EU4 DLC has been pretty good at fleshing out non-European parts of the world, the latest gave us distinct South/Central American development paths, and one of the earlier DLC (CoP?) gave us a more fleshed out North America game. I think there's room for DLC focussing on China/India/SEA/Japan/Central Asia at some point (not necessarily all at once!), but I hope it's early days in the EU4 DLC cycle. There's no doubt that Europa Universalis as a series has a Euro-centric foundation (there's a clue in the title!) but over time PDS has been making it more and more enjoyable to play nations outside of Europe.

I would appreciate it if they'd be quicker and not be so eager to jump on improving representation of minorities that are in vogue. It's a little insulting that improvements to Africa and such are tucked away in dev diaries and limited to some map improvements and 3-5 DHEs before they call it a day while this gets an entire DLC and press releases no doubt made so Paradox can get told how well they've done. Playing favorites with minorities representation doesn't sit well with me, it certainly makes it seem more like they're more concerned with their image than practice (which is my biggest complaint with progressivism in video games).

There are women in Africa too, believe it or not. There's even events about them included in Women in History.

Look, In case you haven't noticed, they are slowly moving around the globe with their improvements. Albeit a bit slow for my preference, but first they did North America, and people were "OMG no Aztec and Inca love??!!" Now we get that, and now people are "What, no Asia, no Africa."

There are also men in Africa, and it would be great if we could have events and improvements to African culture and mechanics as a whole before we start prioritizing certain individuals (which I assume is what those events will be centered on, though if these events involve women in society I apologize).

Patience my dear grasshopper. There are many Eu IV dlc's to come (or atleast I hope for them) and there are areas Paradox can focus on. I think both Africa, the far-east and middle-east are good areas to expand upon the next few expansions. I would say Asia is the likeliest at this moment first. In the meantime they do add some stuff to west-africa like in art of war. (think it had like 50 new events or so?)

We were already prioritizing individuals, just very few of them female. I don't think giving half of humanity a little more coverage in history should really be compared to or put up against region-specific mechanics.

That's not to say we couldn't do more with Africa in general, but that discussion really doesn't belong in this thread. It's not a competition.
