That's an interesting co-op. I wonder how it'll work out, but remain skeptic.
I wish both companies good luck anyway.

That's too bad, I like deep silver, but they're way too old fashioned in their way of handling things compared to paradox.

Whaddaya mean?

Well, if you're going to partner with somebody to make an RPG, it's hard to do better than those guys. Feargus Urquhart and Chris Avellone have generally struck a better balance between player freedom and story than anybody else in the business with their games.

It's great Obsidian has a publisher for Pillars of Eternity and Paradox is an established - if small - publisher. Paradox will get a cut off sales, but that's what publishers do. Steam isn't selling and publishing games as a charity nor is EA or Activision. But that's the extent of the Obsidian-Paradox relationship in this case.

Paradox isn't funding PoE, that's something to consider. Publishers often fund development, not always. Looking forward to PoE. I'll buy it on GOG.com of course.

I would probably have bought it anyway. Also, any possibility that Paradox might publish Tides of Numenara as well?

I am wondering if part of the reason, Paradox was interesting in publishing it was to attract more attention to Runemaster. After all, Obsidian has a much stronger following than Paradox among old-school RPG players, since it's essentially the successor of Black Isle. I'm assuming they will create a forum for Pillars of Eternity.

Numenara will likely be published by inXile.
