Really, really great news. Love Obsidian, love Paradox. Only awesomeness can come out of this
What's wrong with Shadowrun?
I'll repeat the question - Why? They're not losing out - Paradox are not touching the game. They're marketing and selling it. They're not investors.
If people are complaining, they are ignorant and should learn when to keep quiet and read.
Interesting that many people on Obsidian forum not very happy about that deal..
Shadowrun is a disaster of linearity. A great example of how to NOT make a cRPG game.

But you are aware of the fact that there are many different types of cRPGs? I, for example, LOVE a good story. TES, just to name one example, are great open world RPGs, but i prefer a good story over openworld/sandbox anytime. Shadowrun is a littlebit too linear, but by far its NOT a disaster. But calling it a disaster sounds way more dramatic, i´ll give you that.
Other people voiced some concerns with DLC as Paradox has moved heavily in that direction...
We can only hope the game sells well enough to warrant an expansion pack. I backed it, and it isnt hard to get that obsidian needs someone to make trailers and run affiliate marketing
This seems like good news but what I'm afraid of is whether or not they'll (Obsidian) pull a U-turn with the DRM-free thingie they promised now that they've partnered with PD who have been too Steam-reliant recently. And promises can be broken.
Remember Shadowrun Returns? Yeah...
And before you point it out I know there was an AMA yesterday with Obsidian and they said that this won't affect DRM-freedom or release from GOG.
There still isn't any DRM with ANY PDS gameThat is my concern as well. Paradox used to have a strong commitment to DRM-free games, but in recent years, concerns over the ease of implementing multiplayer have trumped that.

Except, ironically, the non-Steam version of CK2. No need to rehash the old argument about the Steam client itself - we simply disagree.
Paradox published games used to be DRM-free. That is certainly not the case any more.
