i am intrigued by the pope's event file beeing "shared" to any nation that conquers rome ( what happens if is NOT christian?)

- regarding the mecca huge wars events if christian hanging on it; i do not seem to find any similar events to rome? are there any?
- can the "share" events file be attributed to "any" nations? o is just and ONLY for pope?
- maybe, for a start, can model "hedjia" on same terms regarding caliphate's possible "inheritance"?

-again, romes events trigger TWICE each if owned by anyone else; maybe can fix that next beta
-i have an idea of special random events for rome only ; if any CHRISTIAN province gets owned by diffrent religions, to be added to the "pool" of pope's choice of "cb's" ( making it a possible"defender" of the faith if human, etc)

- "the way" event.....if cordoba desroys it ( galicia right?) there does not seem tobe any event as follow up( at least there nothing seems to happen ever, nt sure do here)

All those 399 events represent the Pope's decisions/choices, rather than things that relate to a Papal State per se.

The Pope exists even if he is controlled by someone else. Lucky you if you occupy Rome (although all Catholics get a CB on you, remember that ...)

Writing a lot of events on the condition that a non-Catholic controls Rome is my idea of tedium.

There is no Christian equivalent of Mecca. No city is mentioned in the Bible as really having any special status, although Christians have come to attribute that to them. Mecca is mentioned in the Qu'ran as a place that Allah himself will protect from being controlled by non-believers.

Well, if they destroy the church and the bones and build a mosque there, it would lose it's pilgrimage importance.

Shouldn't something happen if Byzantium vassalizes the Pope? I attacked the papacy after getting the CB from that "Crusade in Russia" event and vassalized the Pope, but nothing happened.

Remember that there is a difference between Rome and the Pope. Vassalizing the Papal states does not necessarily mean you have taken control of the Catholic church.

This issue arises in a number of ways, and the game is not set up to deal with the Pope controlling Byzantium either.

What do you suggest ought to happen?
