Just curious, I just thought about this, is this game going to include the creation of the Panama Canal?

Er... unless I missed something, Darkest Hour starts from WWI (1914.) The canal was finished the same month fighting in WWI began in Europe. So I don't think much needs to be modeled regarding the canal - it really wouldn't change much to have the canal accessible at the start of the game (though mildly ahistorical and inaccurate.)

On a related note, is Darkest Hour going to prohibit especially large warships (such as certain carriers and superheavy battleships) from using the Panama and/or Suez Canals?

It was finished in 1895 and extended in width in 1914 IIRC.

If you mean the "Nord-Ostsee Kanal", it was finished in 1895 and enlarged in 1913/14. So I think it should be included.
