Currently the Panama Canal is only attack-able from the East. This makes invading it as Japan a bit more complicated. Maybe split the province in two and give it an east and west coast port, which I think causes the problem.

Yeah this gets me every time i invade invade it as Japan. When i take ports in the USA for the very reason to invade Panama from the east I then have to move my fleet from the Pacific to the Gulf of Mexico which sometimes (depending on allies) has to go around the world. Can be very annoying.

I ended up taking a risk, landing a large force on the west and building my own port to supply them. I used the field marshal ability to give them a bit more supply grace and crossed my fingers. Not exactly a smart strategy, but it worked.

Its very annoying with some of the Central-American countries. Because my troops will embark on convoys in the gulf of Mexico getting slaughtered by the US navy because apparently its faster to take a ship around South America than to walk from East to West coast in Guatemala.

Similar things can happen in Europe, where if you're sending troops from the USA or the UK into Central Europe, instead of just crossing the Channel and walking overland, they will go all the way around the tip of Africa through the Suez Canal and the Med which takes an eternity and often puts them in danger.
