Palermo?

What exactly is the deal here ? I just saw it happen again yesterday.. It applies not only for Sicily but some other places too *which honeslty i cant remember *..

So in brief: Duchy of apuila attacks Sheikdom of Palermo which controls the whole island of Sicily.. and then.. the Duchy takes this 1 specific province and the whole sheikdom is suddenly vassal of the duchy :wacko:

I had something similar the other day and mentioned it in the bug forum (or tech support?) but then forgot about it. Basically, I took a province (and it was Palermo once ) while its regiment was away besieging another duke. It was commanded by a courtier and when he took the province he became my vassal. To be precise, that sheik became the vassal of the count of the regiment's home (Palermo, or Porto, or whatever)! Reloading didn't help, but giving out a Duke title to him did.

yes this is some weird case... it also happens if you are count making a count - count vassal relationship. Same thing happens in some province in Russian lands but cant say exactly which.

it surely is a bug of some sort

I've seen this one too - it forms a strange case were a count is a vassal a count.
It seems that taking Palermo vassalizes the nearby sheikdom to whomever takes it (Palermo).

EDIT: but that was on last beta, haven't yet played dec 8th so far that someone takes it.
