Crossing fingers.Definitely something that is less than what HBS was hoping for too given above quoted comments and how they have previously talked. Hopefully they will be able to expand upon it after release.

Special Shadow Hawk skin was used to incentivize people to preorder. It is logical to assume that special {insert mech} skin can and will be used to incentivize people to pay an extra $1.99 (or other amount).
Niiice, just gotta adapt the colors to each environment.Looking at yesterday's stream again, the Stalker has a proper camo pattern, it's just that odd colors are being used.
With a drab palette, that's a solid camo scheme.
I just took it as Artisitc license since the Shadow Hawk publicity item did not strike me as a screen capture. That skin is a new mesh, not a just a color scheme.

Though unique Meshes would be entirely welcome.

...don't forget to tell the OpFor to sit around on their thumbs while you drape plastic all over the Argo's mech bay for overspray, and don't sweat the report that your mechs are all out of commission for yet another week, while they get their fancy schmancy new duds applied.... oh, and those pilots will have to take a cut in pay to cover the costs of all that...

Just install paint sprinklers over and around the doors of the Leopard, let it air dry on the walk out....don't forget to tell the OpFor to sit around on their thumbs while you drape plastic all over the Argo's mech bay for overspray, and don't sweat the report that your mechs are all out of commission for yet another week, while they get their fancy schmancy new duds applied.... oh, and those pilots will have to take a cut in pay to cover the costs of all that...

Not only the Stalker. All OpFor Mechs have it. On a quick glance even the Spider seems to have one but I didn't verify.
Then I guess it's true we really have only one scheme per chassis like Tyler wrote. So no options for unisono camo etc. at first. The other OPFOR Mechs actually had symmetrical patterns more in the 'color blocks and racing stripes' school of design. You could create a camo scheme similar to that, but it would need some changes.

..snip...Each mech has a paint scheme, where several colors get applied. You choose your company colors - for example, I'm currently rocking lavender, metallic blue, and white. Each mech has a unique paint scheme, and those colors are applied to the mech. So a Shadow Hawk's paint's scheme will have the same pattern as other Shadow Hawks, but not the same as any other mech. However, all your mechs will have the same color scheme.
I read it differently, but I see how your interpretation of that quote makes sense.

All Stalkers having Camo and all Kintaros having racing stripes would be kinda weird.
