Slightly newbie question. I am king of Svidjod and hold all the de jure provinces in the kingdom. Looking to reform Norse, I took the county of Naumadal by fabricating then pressing the claim, and now I want to keep eating up Ostlandet (which holds all of de jure Norway except what I just took).

My question is, if I move my capital to Naumadal, will I get the "Become King of Norway" ambition as an option? And if so, will I then get unlimited CBs within the de jure borders?

I believe "Become King of X" requires that you aren't a king and that you are not in line to inherit a kingdom.

Ohhh dear. So I guess I had better just wait for my son's reign then have him subjugate everything?

He'd get a once-per-lifetime subjugation, but nothing more. You'll have to expand via claims beyond that. However, to reform you only need the holy sites, so you could leave Norway alone for the time being (particularly as elective gavelkind would result in Norway splitting off if you took a lot of land there, regardless of whether you create the kingdom or not), get another holy site (Sjaelland, probably) and then burn churches for MA so that you can reform.

You say that Ostlandet holds all de Jure Norway. Doesn't that mean it's a single realm? That means a single subjugation. So I don't see the problem where you need infinite amount of them.

It's a good point. Say I did manage to form Norway and held both king titles - would Norway be given away to a brother on succession or does gavelkind only apply up to duke-level titles? I think I will go for Sjaelland next anyway, like you say. Not keen to take on any Karlings yet...

I already used the one-off subjugation to grab Svidjod though.

Regular gavelkind would see Norway given to your brother. Elective gavelkind would create Norway if it wasn't held but you had enough land and then hand it off, which means you'd definitly lose land on succession if you took the majority of Norway.
