I converted my tribal with Enatic clan Doctrine, but the AI ruler still followed the 'old style'.
I granted a land to a female ruler, she tried to call the noble into her council.
All the noble is male, so she doesn't have councilor after waste many money.
I give her 15 gold * many times. LOL but she still felt cold in council hall.
And the Enatic-cognatic inheritance law is weird.
I give a female country ruler 14 lands, but when she died, all the land shared to 14 male rulers.
And I try to use enatic open succession nomad, it works better than the tribal gov.
The result of Open Succession is the Khagan's Christian granddaughter become the new ruler.
And I didn't try on my MR saving, I only try it on tribal, nomad and feudal.
And I hope there will be the Enatic or Equality MR gov in future patch.
Thanks to read.

IMO, the biggest problem with both the enatic and agnatic clans is that the doctrines dont really "enforce" anything. All the vassals are free to change their gender laws, thus making the doctines pretty much useless.

oftentimes when religion forces something,it forces it only for followers of that religiin, but i agree that enatic cognatic shouldn't be possible brcause the tooltip says enatic enforced

Under a reformed religion with the "enatic clan" doctrine, every now and then a male will go on a conquest and establish a new petty kingdom. That is for once quite weird, as males aren't supposed to be able to take up leadership roles. When they do succeed their host though, they establish a new petty kingdom and set the succession law defaults to "agnatic open" instead of the religion's doctrine.

Alongside this, whenever the AI generate a new character to fill up a position somewhere, like a new baron or a new priest, the matriarchal rule is ignored again and a man is chosen instead. In these cases, the temple holding lose it's purpose and doesn't generate piety because the holder isn't a woman.

There are some flaws in the enatic open system that really needs to be looked at and resolved. If at all possible, it would be nice to get the point of view of a developer on this situation. It would be most welcomed.

Thanks for this topic, I was planning on Enatic Clans for my pagan run but it looks like I will hold off for now.

Does anyone know if there are problems with Agnatic Clans as well? It shouldn't have as many problems as Enatic but I can foresee something weird happening like the AI switching to Agnatic-Cognatic but being unable to use matrilineal marriages.

EDIT: Looks like Agnatic does have problems as discussed here: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/foru...ns-doctrine-does-pretty-much-nothing.1131258/

EDIT2: More Enatic discussion: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/a-plead-to-fix-enatic.1129101/

I have not played with agnatic clans just yet. What might happen is for a ruler to chose to convert by itself, and not go through the event enforcing the new succession laws. That happens with enatic clans too.
