And Soviet era maps of strategic resources are not exactly easy to find
And helpfull too is was, SU knew about oil in Siberia in the late 20s, but had more oil than they knew what to do with, from caspain, and Uruls, when one was threatened by axis in 42 they destroyed the production faciltys thoughly, steeped up production in the urals and never noticed the loss, at that time they made some small effort to devolp parts of siberia for oil production, iirc it was the oil depoisists already present rather than surveyed for.
Japan did not about oil reserves in siberia, but intheory could have devoped faster than SU because of greater demand for the oil, if they went to siberia, if they could build the infrastucture, and transport it back to the coast.
