A problem my friend and I always have when playing HOI3 is the Pacific campaign. Either as America, Britain, or France, we always feel apathetic to that theater. Instead, we just put all our focus on the European theater. Even after knocking out Germany, we're often like: "Ughhh... Japan is still around :/ It's going to take forever to build a fleet to invade Japan (as Britain or France)." or even just how unenjoyable it is to island hop and constantly have logistical issues and just how non-maneuverable the ground combat is.
Now, I get that the Pacific front was like that. Very slow, it was secondary to the European front, logistical issues, largely a slow grind to (re)take islands and territory. But I wonder if HOI4 could make the Pacific front not only more enjoyable but also matter more.
Hong Kong, Indochina, Malaysia, Burma, even the islands. Having them get captured never reeeeaaaaally bothered us. Yeah we took hit in National Unity but it was suuuuper tiny or insignificant. The loss of the Dutch Indies, which historically really mattered, doesnt seem to be portrayed in HOI3 as much (HOI3 was pretty bad at portraying a lot of information to be fair). I think the only time a Allied nation should start to get worried is when Japan is closing towards India. And out of the many playthroughs we had, only once or twice did we have to fight it out in Burma as it was 'historically.' Now did we know the exact consequence of losing India? Actually no, but we assumed it mattered due to its size :V
In any case, I hope HOI4 makes the Pacific campaign more enjoyable and seem to matter more.
