It is 1940 and I am playing the UK (my 1st game), I am still holding on to North Africa (just), the war has been a nightmare so far, I thought you guys said it was easy? Anyway, Italy who is in the war against me is sailing his fleets through my Suez cannal. I still own all the provinces around the Suez and yes I am attacking his navies and bombing them as they pass through, but still some are making it. Why can I not stop this? BTW I did loose Gibralter to a nationist Spain that joined on the side of the Germans, is that what is allowing Italian ships to leave the med? Surely Italian ships cannot pass through what is effectively a very narrow stretch of water without my say so?

It really should matter, if that is the case, that italian ships can sail through Gibralter and Suez even though they don't own it, then that really should get fixed. I'm not a big one for moaning, but politely, access through, Gibralter, Suez, Panama, The dardenese, and possibly even the baltic should depend on who owns the provinces 'protecting' those water ways.

I have noticed too much naval activity in general, the USSR is sailing up and down the english channel, and the Germans keep comming out to play with their capital ships. In reality Capital ships should be something easily lost if employed incorrectly, and the descision to actually put to sea should be a major one. As it is at the moment, not only do AI navies put to sea far too often, it is really hard to actually sink enemy ships, and your enemy can get out of suposed sucure areas (ie the med for the Italians) without control of the strategic landmarks, ie Gibralter and Suez.

I have also seen Japanese ships in the med, what the hell do they think they are doing so far from home?, this is a bit silly. Like i said, i'm not one to shout and moan, but it does seem as if naval operations are a bit strange at the moment.
