Okay, while waiting for enough changes to take effect for the game to be entertaining as a major nation, I've decided I'd like to attempt to create a new scenario. Basically, I'd like to take the premise of Harry Turtledove's Great War/American Empire series. Seeing as how this is going to be a really in depth modification, and it's my first, it'll take forever and probably be horrible.:D Anyway, my questions are:
1. Where can I find a pretty basic, yet complete overview of how to do the modifications? I've followed some of the links here, and basically all of them are written for people who have some experience already, I have none. Havard's seems to be the best, are there any others?
2. Does the ingame editor even work? Every time I open it and try to do things, one of two things happens; it either crashes, or does absolutely nothing.

Thanks for the help.

As for number 2, the best answer is simply to not use the editor. I think anyone else will agree.

As for how to learn the basics...that's really up to you, I believe. As you said, Harvard's site is the best, and beyond that you're gonna have to help yourself. There will be many bugs, but hopefully none too bad :D
