Oversight - Dominions/Puppets

Hey, playing a game as Australia recently. Did the national focus where I received British Malaya as my puppet from the British. However when Japan joined the axis and summarily declared war on me (British/Polish war) I noticed that British Malaya was neutral in all these conflicts as Australia as a Dominion can't call subordinates in this case Malaya into the war.

Hence I have to either wait until the axis declare war on them or I become independent as Australia. I'd have thought at the very least that Britain would be able to, however it's 1941 and this does not seem to be on the horizon.

As an added note on subjects, subjects can't ask to join wars. They also don't automatically get called to war, they have to be called manually. This is more of an oversight.

The original subject is exactly the same situation that happened in EU4 with subject of subject interactions. They fixed it in EU4 (eventually) they will fix it here.

I don't have a save at the moment unfortunately. I deleted it after I couldn't get an achievement as Britain had occupied turkey. I didn't realize you could upload and will do it in Future

You could easily see it by playing as Australia and getting Britain to let you puppet Malaya, I'd say it's an oversight and not a bug as such

Ok maybe it is a bug, I found the save and looked at it. While I am a dominion, I don't think that being a dominion prevents you from calling an ally to war from the rules I read. However when I hover over call Malaya to the war it says that I am a puppet

The same thing happened in EU4, when you had subjects of subjects. It's 100% a bug.

I have looked into the situation and it seems like a "classic" multi-tier puppet issue.

I have added the issue to our internal database.
