It sounds like in EU4, overseas provinces count for a lot less than contiguous ones in terms of the burdens of having a large empire, for instance they are much easier to core and to change culture. Also, the way 'aggressive expansion' is now a local modifier (and not one that affects your country internally) means that a war to conquer some far-flung, backward region is much more attractive diplomatically: you'll upset the locals, but not your dangerous neighbours back home, and you could expand quite rapidly without suffering overextension.
Does this mean we will see European powers conquering, converting and assimilating large chunks of Asia as soon as they have the reach and military superiority to pull it off, in preference to conquests closer to home?
