Basically see title.

I was having a hell of a time with population in 2.2. Either I didn’t build the growth boosters and fell behind my more aggressive neighbors, or my damn planets were overrun with horny elves who didn’t understand contraceptives.

Annnnnd... it’s because I went Egalitarian minor.

Going Egalitarian in any degree means you MUST expand because you lose the planet Decision to halt population growth.

That seems pretty harsh to me and could use a balance pass, but yeah. Life’s way better now that my elves can keep it in their pants as Spiritualist Pacifists.

Steer clear of Egalitarian if you plan to play tall and turtle, gang. It’s extremely difficult to prevent overpopulation otherwise (if not impossible).

I'm a Fanatic Egalitarian and I have the planetary decision, I just never use it anyway. I find that the emigration push will cause the population to stabilise before it causes a problem as long as total housing is a bit lower than the total amount of jobs because unemployment generates a pretty small amount of emigration push, whereas overcrowding generates a lot.

Edit: Also remember to replace the robot assemblies!
