Overloading a generals division capacity results in penalties to division stats

It says that it should remove all the Positive commander traits, so it should never go below 0, right?
Also, since there is a field marshal, which is not overloaded, the stats should be positive anyways.

How would you perform washing the dishes if I gave you the dishes of an entire evening in a restaurant and told you to wash 200+ plates in 10 minutes?

Or if you have to write 20 papers in global affairs, each 20 pages strong by the end of this week?

It's due to the sick* trait. It gives penalty equal to 50% of the commanding leader stats/bonuses. So you get -150% total of the boni (-100% due to overloading command and extra -50% from being sick).

* - Err, wounded.

Your general is commanding 180 divisions out of 24 his skill level allows, and you're complaining the divisions have penalties in combat?

That's actually the wounded trait, not the sick trait.

It's the same penalty - with the difference that wounded stays for 90 days. But, yeah, somehow I managed to 'mistype' this one :p

Alternatively don't bother with generals when you're spamming bad infantry like PRC, since modifiers to bad base stats aren't going to make the difference between success and failure anyway. As the Soviets I only use a general for tanks and my ability to hold the line has not changed.

I am gonna campaign for making it only 12 instead of 24the max amount. No general commanded 24 divisions in an army in ww2. To my knowledge.
I think this is and should remain a case of game play over realism personally. The way that the front lines and plans interact is bad enough without at least doubling the number of separate orders.

I think that’s missing the point. The alternative to having a general is not having a general. No matter how overloaded a general is, surely having a general can’t be any worse than not having one? If the empty slot can be a better general, and without division limits, that would be silly, right?

I wouldn´t sign that. A wounded or ill commander can be worse than no commander. Think of a divison without an army general: The division is still under the division´s general command. So the division´s general is doing his best without interferring with the army general, buuut if there is a sick army general with "strange" orders the division can perform worse.

This is actually a good point. Maybe divisions not under a general should be made so they are worse in most situation than if they are under a general. Maybe only very weak tactics, slower movement, much slower org regain, no access to various stat buffs?

However ridiculous examples of overloading like the op probably should be much worse anyway.
