The output.log file gets floaded with the following message over and over again, when I alt-tab to my desktop.

HandleD3DDeviceLost
HandleD3DDeviceLost: still lost
Skipped frame because GfxDevice is in invalid state (device lost)
(Filename: Line: 1602)

When I switch back, the output.log continues with normal messages. But this makes troubleshooting mod errors later on pretty hard.

It happens without mods and assets as well. I run the game in DX9 mode and limit the FPS. I use these launch options: -noWorkshop -disableMods -force-d3d9 -limitfps 30

Hi Finwickle,

Could you please send me your dxdiag so I can have a look at your computer?

* Open your Start menu
* Type "dxdiag" in the search field (without quotes)
* Click on the dxdiag program
* A window called "DirectX Diagnostic Tool" should pop up now
* Wait until the green bar at the bottom-left has disappeared
* At the bottom right-hand side, click on "Save all information"
* Save it to a place where you can find it easily, for example your desktop
* Open the file and copy the contents in http://pastebin.com/
* Paste the link to your pastebin page here

Also
* Go to '\Steam\steamapps\common\Cities_Skylines\' and get the devInfo files
* Windows: Go to '\Steam\steamapps\common\Cities_Skylines\Cities_Data/output_log.txt'
* Linux: '~/.config/unity3d/Colossal Order/Cities: Skylines/Player.log'
* Mac OS X: '~/Library/Logs/Unity/Player.log'
* Open the file and copy the contents in http://pastebin.com/
* Paste the link to your pastebin page here

Hi IcratoX, thanks for your quick response.

DxDiag: http://pastebin.com/uYYhFBUZ
DxDiag 64-bit (I didn't know if you want this as well): http://pastebin.com/2wV3JBmK
Output.log: http://pastebin.com/CKnDLLTC

There was about 10 seconds between alt-tabbing to desktop and copying the output.log. I alt-tabbed after a new map was loaded and ready to start playing.

There is a file devinfo.txt, but it is very old. It was created when I installed or first ran the game and hasn't been updated, while my computer hardware has been updated. When I delete this file, a new one is not generated. This is the contents of the devinfo.txt:
Machine ID: 23497bc1ed06c6ed32bb0efb6d71e1a328b00d95
Model: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU 760 @ 2.80GHz (8191 MB)
OS: Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (6.1.7601) 64bit
Language: English
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU 760 @ 2.80GHz (4 core(s))
System Memory: 8191
Gfx Device: AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series
Gfx Version: Direct3D 11.0 [level 11.0]
Gfx Memory: 2027
Gfx Shader Model: 50
Game Version: 1.0.6b

However, I now have an Intel i5-6600K 3.5GHz and 16 GB memory. I still have the same graphics card thought: AMD Radeon 7850 2GB. And ofcourse my game version is now 1.2, with the After Dark expansion.

I got a new, maybe related error. I was alt-tabbed for a while, and when I went back into my game, I got this error:

An error occurred while packaging to the save file.

The game apparently had a hard time autosaving when not having focus. The autosave.crp didn't exist now, the temp file mentioned does indeed exist. The game had no issue autosaving later, when it had focus.
This was with lots of mods and assets loaded (I removed the -noWorkshop -disableMods launch options after giving you the previous information).
