Back in Europe an army under Kleist firmly puts North Italy under German control but Montgomery and the Italians stop him somewhere between Bologna and Roma. The front in Europe is quite static overall with the Germans, apart from the Italian actions, only moving forward a bit in the Balkans, more precise, the Romanian oilfields. They hold pretty well overall though. The Germans seem to be investing in better planes to counter our advances it seems.
By November Japan is taking big blows. O’Connor wins a major battle in China and has the Japanese on the run completely. A first attempt for a US invasion in the mainland is thwarted by Yamamoto as a major naval battle takes place which ends pretty much undecided but does make an invasion at this time impossible. A bit sadistic maybe but there’s some good news in there for the empire: we now easily had the best and largest fleet again.
Russia meanwhile had sorted out its internal struggles and reverted back to familiar behaviour; in the name of “eradicating evil communism” they attacked commie Mongolia, which evidently proved to be a pushover and was soon annexed. The Cromwells and jets are advancing nicely. We should be able to invade in full force.
