Ottomans WC Attempt tactic

Hello, after 130 Hours of EU IV i want to do my first Ottomans WC attempt, because of this i want to share my tactic with you and maybe you can give me some good advises.

My Ideas will be Influe, Religious, Admin, Diplo,Quality (Economy/Trade if i need money), Offensive,
Exploring,Quantity (for the Manpower Achivement)

First i want to no cb Granada and vassalize them, then i take konstantinopel and the rest of my cores, free persia and feed them and take the african eastcoast, horde lands and india simultaneously.

Then i converte to Coptic and force the peace of westphalia, become Emperor and use the vassals swarm to destroy some european superpowers in this moment my armys will take the rest of asia and africa.

And maybe i can get the One Faith achivement too.

And converting to Coptic after conquering Africa and India might take too long, I would rather convert to Christianity and become Emperor ASAP if that's the route you wanna take

First WC, Ottos? I wouldn't mess with the HRE. That's a lot of tedious RNG nonsense that will frustrate you more than be fun. It's not worth it.

I'd stay Sunni for first WC and go humanist. If you want a one Faith WC, I suggest Castile, not ottomans.

You will get an enormous amount of Sunni specific achievements regardless, I promise. Parisan Pashas for one. Dar al Islam. Etc.

If you switch out of Sunni, you lose the Ottoman government, Dhmmi and their +tolerance, - tech cost. Janissaries cannot be raised. And you'll have to herd religious rebels. It's not fun and not necessary, like the HRE thing.

Ottos are easy enough without all that. Take City of Desire, annex Byz, while fabricating claims in Anatolia. Ally Dawasir, get +150 relations for the school that gives -10 AE. Give Dhimmi enough provinces to get -10 tech cost, be careful about their influence falling. Take on the weakest alliances. Anatolia and keep fabricating. Take Rakka from Aq, release Syria as a vassal, reconquest Mamluks.

Edit: as soon as you can warn Hungary, do it. Or they'll eat Bosnia and Wallachia and all that.

Grab the Kosovo gold mine from Serbia. Eat caucus or whoever you can that is Sunni or Orthodox while waiting for Mamluk truce timer. Kill them some more.

Just... you want Egypt for money. You want Persia for money. You want India and any other Trade Company region for money and Force limit. You cannot free Persia for reconquest anymore, those cores no longer exist. I like to eat gilan/Mazandaran area ASAP.

Granada isn't necessary, and it kills the moorish influx event. If you want Granada -for unifying Islam faster - do that after Byz. They've got a truce with Castile, they'll live.

Idea groups... you'll have to go to your settings to get first two Admin groups in a row. I wouldn't religious that early if I stay Islam.

Locked idea groups:
Influence(-AE, -15% dip annex cost)
Admin(has a -20%dip annex cost policy with influence)
Humanist(no more rebels)
After that, offensive, diplomatic and religious. Probably nothing else. Exploration if I have to. Quantity for fun and achievements if I've got the time or extra slot.

I don't remember what year that fourth idea spot unlocks. If it's near 1600 and I have good -unrest, diplo first for -25% warscore.

But really, influence admin and humanist are the only really important ones.

Economics and trade aren't necessary.

If you're going to convert, do so sooner. Coptic gets lots of missionaries and some good coversion bonuses so it makes for a good one One Faith, but go after the colonizers early. Skip the HRE vassal swarm, you don't need it as Ottos, but do go for PUs. Skip the Granada no-cb as well, not needed.

I'd take humanism after the first four instead of a mil group. You probably won't need them.

I also agree with most of what Plantagent said above... you're making it too complicated. An Otto WC should be a flat out blobfest, going east to the TC land after completing your initial missions then just steamrolling the world.

Sunni is a.. problematic religion to one faith on now. Mostly because it's near impossible to stay on the mysticism side of the slider.

If you really want to do it, I'd suggest unifying Islam asap and making sure you know which vassals have religious bonuses. Najd is your bestest buddy.

But really, I wouldn't make it harder. Do an Otto WC, don't worry about One Faith. Maybe next time become Japan shogun, WC one faith shouldn't be that difficult with them, and it's not Austria or Castile, who are both much better at One Faith.

Oda one faith catholic WC. Yum.

Edit: uncolonized provinces don't count, going to 1.22 or before would make a Sunni WC easier. You've got to be careful though, because current advice is always based on current patch.

No, you don't need to convert uncolonized provinces.

I'm still in 1.22, but it sounds like Muslim conversion was nerfed pretty hard in 1.23. If you want to One Faith, I'd go Coptic, sometime shortly after the Caliph event for taking Cairo, which gives 100 of each mana (if that's still in the newer patches). Losing the government isn't that bad b/c you can always disinherit, but the loss to Janissaries is worse in 1.23 b/c you'd keep the bonuses in earlier patches.
You could go Catholic too, but that negates holy-waring much of Europe - it will make dealing with colonizers a bit easier, however.

If it's your first WC or first time playing Otto, I'd ignore the One Faith, unless you've already played a bunch of big-blob, post-imperialism games.

Okay, i will ignore the one faith thing, and i will try it at Patch 1.24 if i fail i go back to 1.20.

Japan Shogun sounds interesting i didnt played any east asia nation yet.

I think im a bit too slow, i only have 1k Dev.
My next Goal will be India, and the east coast of Africa.

Maybe a little bit slow, but if Syria is your vassal and a truce with Mamluks ends soon, that's ok progress I think. Is Crimea a vassal?

You can play a lot of catch-up in the later years, but you want to make sure you have a good power base to do so. You don't seem to have a very large army or manpower though, what's your force limit? Ideas?

Check @SKOTy 's current Ottoman WC guide for some comparisons. He's taken some land in Iberia/Italy, but that's not strictly necessary at this stage, though it helps to take a few bites out of Europe here and there when you see a opportunity.

For comparison, here's my current Coptoman WC attempt (it's 1710 and in the bag) at 1500. Take this with a big grain of salt as I started it a few months ago in 1.22 when Ottos had a bunch of free cores as did Persia. Persia is a vassal and going Coptic also let me eventually get a PU over Castile.

Crimeria and Syria are my vassals.

At the beginning i was limited by AE, now i dont have Problems anymore with it. The truce with the mameluks ends in 10 Years. My problem is the army limit (70).

Yeah, you're doing fine expansion wise. Maybe a bit slow, but not a problem as long as you just keep going. Ottos are pretty forgiving and there's no need for optimal play. Focus finishing off the Mamluks, and getting to India and East Africa next while picking off the rest of the countries in Arabia and maybe the Mahgreb as you get a chance. You want to lock down Zanzibar and the upstream nodes to capture all that trade income.

Check out bly08 's Otto WC (on a pre CoC patch judging by the MidEast setup, I think) if you want to see fast. It gives you a good sense of what is possible, but don't think you need to be quite that fast - his WC was by 1737.

Any WC post 1600 is too slow for you .

No one close to you should have anything near your army limit. Divide up your stacks and use the minimum stacks needed for each war.
